Congratulations to these two Nose Work teams for rocking their trial at the Atlanta Kennel Club! We are so proud they searched well and placed high. Mary, with her Whippet, only attended virtual classes with us, too. How cool is that?! Carla and Piper just started Nose Work in-person classes with us last Fall.... It's exciting to see their journey unfold. Let's celebrate with these two teams with emojis in the comments.

Teaching a dog who has a tendency to over react to things in their world such as other dogs, people, sounds, and/or movement fun tricks can shift their emotional state. A few years ago in our reactive dog program we incorporated specific trick sessions. This way dogs who traditionally couldn't attend a tricks class could still benefit from learning new skills. By teaching tricks we found the dogs were less intense, happier, and their owner was also more relaxed. Plus by con...tinuing to teach them new skills they were able to use their amazing brain and boost confidence through learning in a positive way. If you have a dog who tends to react try working on some "stupid pet tricks" to lighten the mood and give them an outlet to try new things. What trick would you like to teach your dog next?

It's interesting to see how different dogs search for rats. Some are very slow and methodical. While others zoom around. Enjoy this sped up version of a few newer teams working in class. All breeds can join the fun!

Curly is 14 years young. I want to keep him healthy and happy. So we are sharing with you some of the exercises we are doing a few days a week to build up some muscles in his cute bod. Our amazing physical therapist, Lisa G Bedenbaugh, gave us information on which exercises would be best for him right now. - Sit - Down - Sit to Stand... - Down to Stand - Reverse Stair Loving - Lateral Stepping Can you tell how much he loves just doing things together? We keep it short and sweet to ensure he isn't overly tired after a session. Much like us, we don't want to overdo it and then be too sore the next day. So keep us accountable by checking in on his progress each week.

Whoa! The barn at Rotten Dog Sports Lodge now has light. We are thrilled this was made possible to have rattastic fun with the time change. Shout out to team RDSL for their continued efforts to make their space even better for more fun with dogs. We certainly lucked out getting to partner with them for barn hunt and dock diving this year.

These two smalls were newbies to our day school program. They are crazy cute! We enjoyed getting to know them and start their training. Coconut and Gigi are just puppies. When you get a puppy they are adorable! They are also naughty. That being said, we like to ease them into learning especially when they are away from home. Everything is so new. Which can be scary. ... Kathy, the Wednesday day school trainer, enjoyed teaching these cuties. She also allowed them lots of play, rest, and snuggles. While we have training goals in day school we also look at the individual dog in that moment. It is more important to help them feel confident and secure so they can feel safe learning. Have you ever had to change your training expectations because of your dog's emotional state?

This little darling is all signed up for Saturday's puppy social hour at 11:30 am. Sadly, she has no friends joining her...yet. Who has a puppy under 6 months of age with a minimum of two rounds of vaccines looking to have some real fun? This is a guided social by one of our instructors. We have a secure fenced in area to let pups explore and allow for people to appropriately distance wearing masks.... It's only $20. Who will join her?
