Eight sons and daughters of our members are the 2020 recipients of the Council’s scholarship program. Each will receive a $1,000 annual scholarship for four yea...rs, to help fund their education after high school. Congratulations to: Kelsey Lawrence (father is Sylvester Lawrence of Local 225) Naudia James (father is Franklin James of Local 318) Joshua Ross (father is David Ross of Local 225) Christopher Knox (father is Thomas Knox of Local 74) Kaitlyn Wilson (father is David Wilson of Local 1209) Destiny Bostic (father is Norman Bostic of Local 283) Jaycie Carter (father is Jason Carter of Local 256) Mia Abernathy, a returning recipient from last year (father is Marlon Abernathy of Local 1209) The SECRC scholarship program started in 2004 and has awarded scholarships to 41 sons and daughters of Council members. We are proud to report that, out of the 41 recipients, 13 have completed all four years in the program, and the remaining 28 are all active in various levels of the program. Scholarship recipients must attend an accredited College, University, or Technical School, submit an academic report at the end of each scholastic year, and maintain at least a B average to receive subsequent scholarship checks. Don't forget to send in your application for The Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council Scholarship program. The Scholarship is open to dependent children of ...all members of the Council, except dependents of Council employees. If any SECRC member has a high school senior who is going on to college, please consider applying! The deadline to submit a scholarship application is August 30, 2020, but get your applications in as soon as possible.
