Thank you, James O'Neal Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Bremen for spotlighting the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. We appreciate your thoughtfulness. However, we are not open the last full week of the month--only every Monday and Thursday from 11 to 12 for a meal. Deliveries are made twice a month, and canned goods are available at the Soup Kitchen on the last Thursday of the month. Please see our webpage for the complete schedule.

The Soup Kitchen is serving to-go meals from 11 to 12 every Monday and Thursday! This is lunch only-- bags of groceries will be available for drive-thru on the last Thursday of the month. United Rentals has been so gracious to let the Soup Kitchen borrow a forklift on many occasions. This morning, the forklift enabled volunteers to unload almost 2000 boxes of produce that were part of the USDA program that buys from farmers and gives the food to those who need it. Everybody wins!

We want to thank everyone who has made donations, especially someone who donated their stimulus check to us on Monday. The Soup Kitchen is operating under a different schedule, due to COVID-19. Some deliveries of canned goods to shut-ins continue, and we are looking at options for preparing hot meals. Soup Kitchen and Open Hands of Carrollton are really working together during this crisis. If we bag 37 40 # boxes of chicken tenders(boneless breast) they will share 50/50 37 cases of chicken tenders and 27 cases of chicken strips. They will also keep them in their freezers until we need them. Sue called Susan Sapp and she will have a team at Soup Kitchen bagging fresh refrigerated tenders at 9:30 AM. This is about 1,000 pounds of chicken for our Open Hands’... guests. It is great to see two great ministries working together. Thank you Pilgrims Carrollton for providing the chicken. We also have been delivering bags of food every two weeks to our Shut in’s, since March. Even though we may be closed at this time for our guests and volunteers to be safe, as a community we raise together during this time. Thank you and be safe.
