We regret to inform you that Retired Firefighter Roy Parrish passed away Sunday at the age of 96. Roy was always good for a story or two from the good ole days. Roy was a Veteran of WW2, a Firefighter, and a pleasure to spend time with. He will be missed.

The City of Carrollton Fire Department received an Assistance to Firefighters Grant this week in the amount of $53,230 through FEMA. The grant will he used to purchase turnout gear washers and dryers for each fire station. (We currently have only one at the headquarters station.) Cancer prevention is a great concern to firefighters as we have a 10% greater chance of being diagnosed with cancer and a 14% greater chance of dying from cancer than the general population. This equipment will help reduce the amount of carcinogens that we are exposed to.

Prayers for the family of Haralson County Firefighter Justin Robinson who passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the Department as they deal with this tragedy.

The Carrollton Fire Department would like to congratulate Lieutenant Will Rollins for completing and passing his National Registry Paramedic Exam & Practicals and receiving his State License. Hard work pays off!
