Thanks to all who made St. Gabriel's Conference of St. Vincent de Paul's annual "Friends of the Poor" Walk a success!!! A thank you to Father Richard for his continued support of this ministry, and to Rhonda Mangin for setting up "SignUpGenius". Without her help, we would not have been able to have our walk!
Don't forget to sign up and give life saving blood on Nov 5 . The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a blood drive with the Red Cross https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results

October has been dedicated as the month of the Rosary and for the Sanctity of Life. We understand in this new ‘norm’ that we are not able to pray the Rosary in the traditional way with Adoration, Divine Mercy, or other Bible studies inside St. Gabriel; however, you have been able to find new ways to do everyday things. We invite and highly encourage you to be creative in finding new ways to pray the Rosary with others and for the Protection and Sanctity of Life. Our wonderful Life Teen group took this opportunity to make their own decade Rosary keychain and prayed the Rosary by Mary's Garden! Way to go!! If you have pictures of you and your family and friends praying, send them to Yen at the office so we can showcase the power of the Rosary!!
Another beautiful weekend for Mass at St. Gabriel!! Come join us inside or bring a chair & attend in our new courtyard. We love seeing everyone back at St. Gabriel!
We are beyond ecstatic for our newly Confirmed young adults. Thank you to Archbishop Hartmayer and Fr, Richard Vu for conferring the Sacrament of Confirmation upon 23 Confirmandi this past Saturday! Thank you also to all who had a hand in this Mass -- Choir, Liturgical Ministers, the Assembly, and a special thanks to our fantastic new Youth Ministry Coordinator, Rhonda Evans Mangin and all of the RE staff. It was a beautiful celebration!!! As a parish family, we pray that t...he Holy Spirit will enlighten and strengthen the Confirmandi as they continue their journey of faith. See more

Please see the message from Archbishop Hartmayer below: The apostolate Acts XXIX has put together resources for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on Thursday, Sept. 24. The goals of this day are mercy and healing for our country as well as the conversion of our own hearts. Many dioceses across the nation are joining in this effort, including our own. I encourage you to support this day in your parish communities.... To learn more about the day or download resources for it, visit: https://www.actsxxix.org/national-day-prayer-fasting or https://www.actsxxix.org/promo-package). Or read their press release about the effort.

Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv. has announced that the suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass has been extended until Monday, September 28, and the suspension will be reviewed again at the end of September. The archbishop encourages those who are healthy and are not burdened with the fear of being exposed to the virus to begin returning to Mass and receive the grace of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. The archbishop stated,... "Watching the celebration of the Mass on the computer or TV cannot become a substitute for receiving the sacraments. When ill or in a vulnerable category for being infected or infecting others, the sick person should always remain at home. This pandemic should not make us lazy regarding our spiritual life. Our children are back in school and many people have returned to work outside the home. We still need to be extremely cautious and practice proper protocol. I suspect more of us can return to Sunday or weekday Mass than are currently attending. I am grateful to all our priests and lay faithful for making it possible and safe to attend Mass. I appreciate the patience of our people during this unprecedented time. Please continue to be safe." https://archatl.com/come-holy-spirit-fill-and-renew-us/
All work and no play makes for a dull Vincentian! The Youth Conference of St. Vincent de Paul worked hard all summer at the Summer Lunch Program, Adopt a Grounds clean up at the church, and helping out the staff all summer. It was time to take a break for some hot dogs and s'mores to give thanks before school started! If you are interested in having your teens join this wonderful group, please call the Parish Office
Join us in congratulating our beautiful First Holy Communicants this past Sunday!! God bless you as you received Eucharist on your First Holy Communion! May the love of Jesus shine in your heart now and forever! Congratulations !!
Wishing our children, teachers, administrators, and parents a very blessed, safe, and healthy school year. Thank you for the gift of education in every form. As our children, teachers, and faculties start a new year, may Confidence be their foundation, may Grace be their guide and protector, may Hope be their compass towards a bright future as they navigate back in unfamiliar territory. Keep them free from danger and unnecessary harm. Let them learn and grow strong. Ma...y the presence of the Holy Spirit fill their hearts. May they face each day with positivity knowing that no matter what comes their way, they do not have to face it alone with God by their side.
