Hurricane Zeta Update on October 28th at 9:30 PM: A Tropical Storm Warning remain in effect for Georgia, generally along and to the north of the I-85 corridor. ...The center of Zeta is currently located in south Mississippi and quickly moving to the northeast towards our area. The core of the storm is forecast to pass over the area beginning around midnight tonight into the early morning hours Thursday. The primary concerns at this time are: 1) Wind threat Sustained winds of 25-45 mph, with gusts of up to 50-70 mph, are expected within the Tropical Storm Warning. With saturated soils and many leaves still on trees, some downed trees will be possible. Falling trees or limbs will lead to power outages and potentially damage to property. 2) Flash Flooding Heavy rainfall will occur tonight into the morning hours. Remember that soils are saturated and many plants and grasses are going dormant, so water will move quickly into streams, rivers, creeks and other drainage basins. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADWAYS. We have seen multiple instances this year of roads being washed away by flood waters. As is the case with any landfalling tropical system, there remains a low tornado threat. Any tornadoes that form would be brief and weak. #Zeta #gawx

As the remnants of Hurricane Zeta move through the regi...on tonight and Thursday, winds could gust up to 45 to 50 miles per hour in heavier rain/storm bands. About 3 to 4 inches of rain is forecast. Rare roll cloud near Wichita, Kansas... And for everyone who thought this was misleading, please take a look at the second image and you'll see why I thought it... was known as a horizontal tornado. I admit that I should've done more than glance at the information for if I had, it would've been obvious that this was only a name assigned to the photograph by someone. It's not clear to me if the photographer was responsible or the meme maker but in the future, I'll be sure to look at things more closely to avoid such harsh criticism and judgement by those who had no idea what happened. Thanks for all the nice comments though which far outweigh the others. See more
