Meet our Staff! Dr. Mitchell is the newest edition to our team at Cave Spring Animal Hospital. Dr. Mitchell received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Berry College in 2015 and completed her doctorate at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Following graduation she completed a 1-year internship in Livestock Medicine and Surgery at Kansas State University. Dr. Mitchell is no stranger to Cave Spring. She is a Rome native and her husband ...and in-laws have lived in Cave Spring for over 25 years. She and her husband, Nick, are so excited to be back to their home town after 5 years away and would love for you to come by and say ‘hello’! Dr. Mitchell has special interests in livestock medicine, client education, and small animal preventative care. With her on board Cave Spring Animal Hospital is now seeing livestock patients (2 hooves per foot? She’ll see it!) Whether you’re looking for someone to perform routine herd work (vaccines, pregnancy diagnosis, deworming etc), treat your pet pot bellied pig/goat/sheep/alpaca, or need someone in an emergency, she is here for you! Offering farm calls and in hospital appointments (size permitting) During normal business hours please call the clinic at 706-381-2500 to schedule your livestock appointment. If you have an after hours livestock emergency please call Dr. Mitchell at 706-728-7024

Update: Power has been restored! Please call the clinic if you need to reschedule your morning appointment. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but we have NO power! So we are currently unable to see any patients or appointments right now. Unfortunately with the power outage we have no access to our computer systems or phones so we cannot call to reschedule appointments at this time. We will update you when we are back up and running!

Meet Our Employees! Kellie is likely the first person you will encounter when you come into our clinic (or call on the phone)! She is originally from California but has lived in Georgia/Alabama for the last 35 years. In her down time Kellie enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies (all 9 of them!!) and is an extreme equine enthusiast. She received her LVT degree (Licensed Veterinary Technician) from Jefferson State Community College in 2004. She has worked in a variety of veterinary practices since graduation but has been an employee of Mount Berry and Cave Spring Animal Hospitals for the last 9 years. Please comment below if you have had a great experience with Kellie!!

If you've ever come into the clinic you have surely met our wonderful Tech/Receptionist duo, Scott and Kellie! Please join us in thanking them for all the hard work they do! We could not run this clinic without them Happy Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week from us all at Cave Spring Animal Hospital
