Hi everyone - Thank you for your words of support and questions around yesterday's charter announcement. We have received a number of questions and wanted to address a few of the more popular ones. Please do continue to engage here or via email at [email protected] with any further questions. We're here to support you! 1. What does this mean for current/future students? We don't expect the charter decision to result in any major changes for current CCHS students. L...ong-term, we expect CHS to continue being the amazing school it always has been - our focus for future students will be working with DCSD to ensure a smooth and stable transition to conclude our charter. 2. What does this mean for the magnet program? Nothing. CCHS's charter and our magnet program have always been two separate matters. Our decision regarding the charter has no direct effect on the magnet program. Chamblee's magnet program is a DCSD program that existed at CHS before our original charter in 2001. 3. What does this mean for faculty/staff? Not much. Throughout CCHS's charter, our teachers and staff remained (and still are) DCSD employees. After the charter ends, the faculty and staff that work at CHS will continue to be DCSD employees.
