The Centerville Lions Club is pleased to announce that we'll be smoking turkeys and hams for Christmas. The cost of turkeys and hams will be $35 each and will be available for pickup at noon on Wednesday December 23rd. We're only doing a limited number of turkeys and hams about 40 each. If you're interested in purchasing one or both, just let us know. Remember all the funds that the Centerville Lions Club raises goes right back into our community. What a day, thank you to everybody who participated in today's USDA food box distribution. To say it was a success would be a huge understatement!!! Again just wanted to take time to say thank you to Houston County Fire Department, the Houston County commissioners, Purdue (for loaning us a refrigerated trailer). We had a military sorority, a Scout troop, Byron Lions Club, Perry Lions Club, the newly formed Houston County Lions Club, and Warner Robins Supply (for providing us a forklift and operator)!! I'm sure I'm leaving some people out but just know how much I appreciate each and every one of you, You guys rock and congratulations to the new soon to be formed Houston County Lions Club.

Hello to friends of the Centerville Lions Club. Due to covid-19, we were not able to do our BBQ's this year. We've missed being able to serve our community and to serve some tasty barbecue to the residents of Houston County. Our board met today and we are looking at doing something that we've never done before. With the holidays coming we are considering smoking turkeys and hams to sell. We're putting this out to try to gauge if people would be interested in purchasing smoked... hams or turkeys for Thanksgiving and or Christmas... I won't have firm pricing until tomorrow morning but we think either would be around $40 each. The Centerville Lions Club will be doing another USDA food box distribution on Saturday October 31st. The event will be held at the county annex building 200 Carl Vinson parkway. We hope to be started by 9:00 a.m. to distribute almost 1,300 30 pound USDA food boxes.

Update on the USDA Food Distribution event the Perry Lions are doing tomorrow, Wednesday October 21st. The truck will arrive early so we will probably be handin...g out boxes as early as 9:30 AM. Drive down Larry Walker Pkwy and come in the East Gate of the Ag Center (Perry Fairgrounds). We will be handing out 30+ pound boxes of produce, milk, cheese, and meat. 1,248 boxes in all.
