Proud director moment. The orchestra has been under some major development and we’re getting closer to the final product. Their sound is definitely becoming more focused/clear, they’re becoming more comfortable with playing with a metronome and starting to develop a much better ear for the sound they would like to have. The difference from August to today’s sound is outstanding!

It’s that time again! Our Annual Fundraiser Concert is here! This year we will be doing another program/ad book and holding tables for local vendors. Last year we had over 25 ads placed in our program book and raised over $1500 to help students pay for orchestra dues. Today Central HS Charger Orchestra was able to visit the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University to see the season opening performance of the Schwob Philharmonic and I am beyond pleased with our overall experience! The students had the amazing opportunity to speak with Paul Hostetter, the music director of the Philharmonic, sit in with the orchestra during their sound check, and meet with Sergiu Schwartz and a few members of the orchestra after their performance! ... I’m so proud of all the students that came along with me today. They made a lasting impression with the performers and directors. I am hoping that today was first of many visits to Columbus State University and start to building more connections with Schwob School of Music! Also big thanks to Luciana Green for stepping in to help chaperone!
