Stella demonstrates the newest model of suspension sulky. The other two dogs are loose.

The latest suspension sulky has a few changes. The seat is made by William Hall in Dublin, Georgia. He chose a vinyl that looks like old leather. The trailer hitch allows you to haul a cart or wagon behind you. Other than those two changes it is the same frame with mountain bike forks to make your ride smooth.

In summer my routine at the end of the day, just before doggie dinner time, is to put Stella the Boxer mix and poodle mix on a leash and let shepherd mix go free. We walk a mile down the road and back. I find the routine reassuring. In winter at 5:30 or six it is dark and I use the elliptical trainer. Today was the first hot day. I put on my denim shirt over my tee shirt and my broad brimmed hat with the collapsed brim that falls down on either side of my face. While still on... the property, I let Stella run free. She runs crazy fast here and there. She is a slender muscular brindle boxer mix with a muzzle a bit shorter than her forehead. Out into the street we went with Stella on leash. Her soft pallet catches like a man snoring when she gets hot. I had forgotten to bring water. When we turned around at the end of the road, I took off my denim shirt and covered her carefully. A bit later I felt under the shirt and her fur was no longer hot to the touch. The shirt helped a lot. We got home and the dogs all fit themselves into the little wading pool. Stella stayed in the pool the longest. For the rest of the summer: 1. Soak their Swampcooler coats by Ruffwear in water and put them on each dog before going for my heat-of-the-day walk. 2. Carry my fanny pack with water. I worry that I don't see or hear insects. Today on my Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile) I saw a bee and a butterfly. Got to plant more flowers! Got to save the pollinators.

I called my harness maker to check on my order for more harnesses. He is busy making face masks for the corona pandemic. Is selling to a distributor for whom he has been sewing for years. Congrats to Commercial Fabric Manufacturing in Seattle. Walt says there is no traffic when he drives to work!
