It give a great overview of how important publishing right are , however the description of each deal type is a bit dated or simply proof of how the business landscape is changing. .... For example there are many more admin deals these days (last 2-4 years), (they are no longer rare) which correlate to the higher volume of independent artists making waves and self publishing. . . Social media and youtube has created self distribution possibilities that did not exist a decade ago. But not all admin deals are created equal and not all admin companies are solid. Social media influencers (SMI) are becoming a huge marketplace for advertisers and this marketplace is only expanding exponentially. . One aspect of this expansion is increasing focus from regulators like the federal trade commission FTC and other regulating organizations, therefore it becomes more important by the day to use the correct agreements when engaging with social media influencers or when selling your services as an influencer. . A recent ruling in Germany indicate...d that paid promotions which were not clearly identified would be presumptively deemed deceptive. The German court levied a fine against the influencer and brand, however this case is being appealed. .
