This is hard to write however, I need to. I started this rescue almost 2 yrs ago. I didn't know what I was doing never worked in rescue. I have adopted from s...helters but that was about it. Then one day my sister in law tagged me in a post, they were looking for a medical foster for a poor dog found in Callahan after being dumped on Christmas . He was old partially blind. Deaf. Bad heart and was so malnourished he only weighed about 6lbs when he should have weighed at least 20. I was laid up after just having a total knee replacement but something tugged at my heart, that something was God telling me to go get him. Not to foster but to bring him home. So we did and Kit became a member of our family After that I was speaking to my physical therapist who was coming to my house. And it never occurred to me that we did not have animal control here in Charlton County or a rescue group and after hearing the horror stories God reached out to me and told me to do something about it. So in February we officially started Charlton Animal Rescue Service. Had to learn as I went had help from the best people from other rescues and businesses. And just people in this county. We worked hard to help the furbabies in this county. As of today we have officially found homes for 230 furbabies. We launched our Our Heroes program and was able to find homes with our in service and our veterans. We have had several adoption where they were going to be support animals both physical and emotional support. For those they were free adoptions. And Since we hated to beg for money and I wanted to keep the cost of adoptions down Debbie Thomas and I even started up an online boutique Bless Your Heart Designs so that we could donate the proceeds of what we sold to the rescue. My family and I have put so much into this rescue and we did have some opposition at first. But now by the Grace of God we have a new Sherriff who has a passion for our furbabies and has jumped aboard this crazy train with us and is trying to help get this county something that has been long time needed and ignored for years. And all because of a little dog named Kit that was thrown from a car like a piece of trash. I have not regretted any of it. I used to be "Garrett's wife" and outsider who married a Folkston boy, I stayed to myself here in my corner of Camp Pinckney, had only a few friends. But not anyone that I really hung out with. Not only did God bring me Kit, Muffin, Mo. Finna Tiger. River Callie TJ Bella Bob and the rest of the furbabies but I have made forever friends and I now feel like part of the community and helped make a change in the county. As many of you know it seems to be that I have a "voodoo doll " as I like to call it that has seemed to plagued me. Just in the last 2 yrs if it could happen it would happen to me. Well. In the last 2 yrs I have been diagnosed with some serious health issues and have had several operations and I have had to learn how to deal with these issues. I have always said God allows us to go through certain things for a reason we don't know why but one day you can look back and realize that obstacle or bump in the road was really a blessing in disguise. That if you didn't go through that heartbreak or problem you wouldn't be able to be strong enough to weather the storm later that your faced with now or the blessings that you now have. With this being said. I recently was diagnosed with something that I am having to learn to deal with. It answers alot of the questions of why I have had my "voodoo doll " and I will be needing to see specialist to get the proper treatment so that I can take control of this issue and not let it control my life. With that I will say I AM still going to running the rescue however, since we don't really have many volunteers to foster or donations to help pay for things like food and vet bills. I am going to have to limit how much I can take in due to stress and the cost of my own new medical bills that I anticipate having while we get me the correct treatment. I REALLY hate that. But I feel and truly believe God put Robert Phillips in to carry on his plans as God put us on this earth to protect the animals he created. GOD puts us in the right places at the right time to fulfill the plans he has for us. Again I will still be doing rescue. However. Until I cant try to physically get better I am not able to do it at max capacity and full time like I have been. I will say I have been blessed by meeting my best friends. I love you all, you have supported me in this journey and I can not thank God enough for bringing you in my life. Thank you all for your continued support and love. And helping us find 230 furbabies new furever families

I can't believe I am having to address a few situations that has raised, however I find that I must. 1. If you have a personal problem with anyone, DO NOT PUT YOUR DRAMA ON HERE!! THIS IS A DRAMA FREE ZONE!! This is for our furbabies. And for people who LOVE furbabies and hopefully find homes for those needing furever homes. From time to time we may get a Springer Spaniel and that's fine, but we don't do Jerry Springer!!! 2. We all want was is best for the animals. We al...l love the furbabies I know there are some that try their best and some who think that they know whats better for the animals and expect everyone is supposed to be perfect with care and needs. BUT first off not everyone can afford to or even agree with certain things. As long as that furbaby is loved fed and taken care of that is all that matters to me. That being said: 3. NO BULLYING OR BRING RUDE to the point of being a witch. You can offer advise, no problem there, we welcome it as this page is not only to showcast the furbabies and find them new homes what to share our furbabies and get advice if needed, without the fear of being ridiculed, talked down too and scolded Not everyone in this area knows what to do with a possible homeless baby. So don't scold them for not knowing. If you dont like how someone handles the dog or cat that was found , you can make a suggestion but that is it First time a warning Second time I will mute you Third time you will.be blocked and fed to the gators We are all.grown ups take your momma drama down the road

Georgia law prohibits finders from rehoming found pets, please notify your County Animal control if you find or lose a pet. Also, licensed rescued cannot pick up a stray/found pets from finders in Georgia. If you haven't please post on nextdoor. com..right away. "...city/county ...yard sales..." and even breed specific lost and found and/ or stolen..." Share on all these pages plus county specific pages and don't forget to look in your shelters and surrounding shelters. Don't give too many details and use an email. There are scammers out there. If you find a pet: When you take for chip scan. Remember all scanners do not pick up all chips. Make sure to ask. Pet smart and AC usually have great scanners. Scanning does not cost a thing. Print and put up posters fast and share with neigbors. If you find a pet. Please report immediately to your local animal control and your local shelter. If you don't know how to contact them just ask me. I will help you get in touch. Remember a found dog belongs to someone!! If you are unable to keep, while looking for their family, please take to your shelter. Ppl who reach out saying they will take may not be the best option for a lost pet to get home. If lost you should Leave recently worn clothing outside turned inside out. Food, water, bed and toys. Give posters to your mailman, UPS and school bus drivers
