Safety Update In our continued efforts to improve pedestrian safety along Alex Cooley Drive, 2 speed tables will be installed the week of March 8, 2021. Speed tables are designed to slow down traffic but not impede on emergency vehicle response. Weather permitting, the installation should take 3-4 days. This week was selected to coincide with Galloway's Spring break in hopes to lessen the impact on traffic within the park. Once the speed tables are in place, as promised, the temporary orange barricades will be removed. We will continue to work on safety improvements within the park and keep you informed with project updates as they arise.

Last Fall, we promised beautiful Spring booms - as a result of The Daffodil Project we planted with Temple Sinai Atlanta. Well it isn't quite springtime, but blooms came early! This planting site begins at Chastain Park Ave., following the playground sidewalk along Dudley Ln. Enjoy it! : @woodbatbrand

The Cox Foundation were one of the visionaries that worked to establish our organization. We are grateful for their continued support of our mission and excited to share their sustainability goals from now - 2034: "At Cox, sustainability is more than an operational program. It’s part of our culture that brings positive change to the communities around us. Our people are committed to building a better future and working to solve the most pressing challenges of our time. That’s one of the reasons we’ve accelerated our goals to be carbon and water neutral by 2034." Watch and see: http://ow.ly/FqS250DuY1N

Invasive plant removal is one thing we're familiar with in Chastain Park. It is something we have to constantly maintain to keep our champion trees alive, create usable greenspace and limit mosquito habitat. If you have a yard or land your responsible for, this is a great resource from Park Pride on 'How to Remove Our Top 10 Invasive Plants. http://ow.ly/fEFh50CbIwY
