Early childhood development that includes quality early learning opportunities to ensure more children are school ready is one of the key advocacy areas of the Chatham-Savannah Youth Futures Authority (YFA). In an effort to promote this awareness, as well as engage more child care providers in the process of becoming Quality Rated, the YFA Cares pilot mini-grant was implemented. By targeting licensed, registered and compliant child care providers and facilities, the YFA Car...es mini-grant provides cash incentives to encourage them to apply to be Quality Rated and embark on the process of becoming a Quality Rated facility. T YFA is pleased to announce that the first recipient of the cash incentives from the mini-grant is Ms. Tiniki Harris of Tiniki’s Learning Center. Ms. Harris received the second cash incentive during a Quality Rated/YFA Cares orientation session held on August 23, 2014. Ms. Katrina Chance with the Early Start: Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) of Southeast Georgia conducted the orientation and training session, and helped to motivate child care providers to get onboard with Quality Rated.
