County Helo rescued a stranded boater off Islands Expressway. Medic 56 transporting with non life threatening injuries.

After receiving reports of an explosion, Chatham Fire responded to Mallory court in Georgetown. The first engine arrived in 4 minutes to find a garage fire with heavy flames showing. A total of 18 firefighters and multiple apparatus quickly extinguished the fire and contained fire damage to the garage.

Yes, we even train at night!. These students in the class were instructed by FF Jeff Mills and Lt Bryon Laclair on the basic principals of removing pieces of a wrecked vehicle to rescue victims. Outstanding work on everyone’s part participating.

This morning both EMT recruits and firefighter recruits lined up together as they trained jointly. Once fully certified these recruits will work together frequently and on many scenes to provide collaborative support.

Mornings start at 8am sharp for our EMT recruits. They are now in week 2 of a 6 week boot camp on their way to EMT certification.

Chatham Fire was dispatched to a structure fire at the Waffle House on Ogeechee Road. Upon arrival fire was located across the street at a bar and grill in Savannah Fire Department’s response area. First arriving CES units were able to quickly extinguish the fire limiting further damage to the structure. Upon SFD arrival command was transferred and both departments work together until CES unit were released. No one was injured during the event.

Highway 80 to Tybee Island is closed for the time being due to a severe accident. Please avoid the area as multiple units are on scene.

Chatham Fire recruits continue their training this past weekend as they practiced extrication skills.

Last night Chatham Fire was dispatched to a working structure fire on Sugar Mill Circle. First arriving crews conducted a fast attack minimizing further damage to the home. All occupants were able to escape with no injuries.

Chatham fire units were dispatched at 1:52pm to a working structure fire on Hinesville Rd. The first engine arrived on scene at 1:54pm and a total of 14 firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it spread. Crews are conducting overhaul and salvage to minimize further loss.
