TRICK-OR-TREATING SAFELY WITH COVID-19 It's time to start dreaming of fall and the fun activities that we enjoy, especially Halloween. The City of Warner Robin...s will observe trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. As we all know viruses don't take holidays off, so we need to be mindful that COVID-19 is still a very REAL, BIG VIRUS (boogieman). Here are some creative ideas (suggestions) on how to enjoy this SPOOKTACULAR holiday while continuing to minimize the spread: GO BIG ON DECORATING This is the year to pull out all the stops decorating in and outside of your home, JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT. Have a family or neighborhood contest and ask them to vote on their favorites. (Before you get started, check with your neighborhood association since some have restrictions on when you can start decorating outside). RETHINK GRAB BOWLS Kids crowding around the door and expelling potentially virus laden droplets as they shout "TRICK OR TREAT" is not the best idea this year, but that doesn't mean we can't find other ways to pass out candy. We recommend individually bagging treats and leaving them on a table on your driveway for children to take as they walk by. You can wave from the porch, replenish between visits and keep an eye on the little ghouls who want to take more than their share. DANGLE TREATS OR PUT CANDY IN EERIE EGGS Consider dangling treats from a tree so children can pick treats like apples. Another idea is to break out those plastic eggs and decorate them with scary faces. (You know the ones we all have from not having Easter egg hunts). Fill with candy and a glow stick. BOO SOMEONE, SWEETLY Think of "booing" someone as a random act of kindness for Halloween. Consider "booing" a family that you know will not be participating in traditional trick-or-treating this year due to COVID-19 concerns. Wrap up a (NICE) Halloween treat, drop it at a neighbor or friend's door, ring the bell and run like crazy! The idea is to spread holiday cheer. There's even a website with poems and posters you can print out, at www.beenbooed.com. MASKS, MASKS and MORE MASKS Embrace the mask! Consider making a mask that will match your child's costume. Have a family mask competition. Decorate masks for Halloween and have them judged. We encourage all ghosts, goblins, princes, princesses and their parents to follow the recommendations of the CDC and adhere to the social distancing guidelines while out and about. This recommendation also includes limiting the number of people gathering in one single location. SHARE YOUR IDEAS WITH US IN THE COMMENTS. As we get closer to Halloween, we will post more tips to keep trick-or-treaters safe!

In honor of all those we lost. We will never forget.

Dear Chatham Parke Residents: We were just informed by the city that a water main break happened down the road from the community. We currently have no water. They're working diligently to repair the main break. We apologize for any inconvenience. They currently do not have a timeline of when they will have it repaired.
