We have booked the Columbus Public Library on May 15th from 5:30 to 8 pm for our First "START THE CONVERSATION AT HOME ABOUT SAFE SEX" A Parent Symposium Mark your calendars now and come and work with the FIRST MAJOR SAFE SEX Symposium for Parents to provide tools, role sessions and more to help get over the jitters about talking to your kids today about Safe Sex. Georgia each year reports over 100 kids age 13 to 19 who test positive for HIV. We must do more to stop EARLY INFECTIONS and ENSURE OUR KIDS have all the tools they need in REALITY vs. FANTASY of Abstinence. We are not promoting kids to have sex, but enhancing your abilities to have open honest conversation with your kids that could quite possibly save their lives.

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit The Debra Smith Wellness Center formerly The Chattahoochee Valley Better Way Foundation Inc..., and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. On March 05th our Financial Partner CAN Community Health ended our partnership due to corporate restructuring and closed our offices and laid everyone of us off. We have worked hard for the past ten years providing care, support, education, training, prevention, testing and linkage to care to our community for free. We are in danger of forever ending our award winning mission and closing up for good. We need your help to continue our mission and keep working to help all those impacted by HIV and AIDS in the Columbus Georgia area. See more

It's a time to remember the journey it took to accomplish and get to where we are today. it's a time of celebration is a time to reflect upon those we lost. and most importantly is a time of focus for the future in the fight against AIDS and better care and support for those who are living with the disease. Welcome to World AIDS Week. We are more than HIV and AIDS. Believe me there is life beyond status. We are vital to the future of AIDS and most importantly it is vital... that everyone of us are there when they announce the cure for AIDS one day. Until then the work is far from done and there are still so many that need love, need support and that need a better way of living through one of the most highly stigmatized and misunderstood diseases of our lifetime. this Saturday we will host our first bi city world AIDS day walk at 1 p.m. on 10th and Bay followed by an evening music awards and free barbecue from Country's barbecue St Thomas Episcopal Church from 5 to 8 p.m.. all of this happens December the 1st but most importantly speak about AIDS talk to your kids about AIDS but most importantly become informed become educated and help end the stigma. It takes all of us to conquer AIDS. Because it's more than just living with the disease it's a journey for all that we all embark upon together. The future of HIV care is coming in 2019 beginning in December of this month we will open our doors for enhanced HIV care. We call it the Debra Smith 2.0 initiative. Come here all the exciting news and join us for a day of celebration for the work that we have achieved together, reflection and focus for a new future and better care, and most importantly a time of remembrance for the pioneers that started this journey back in the 80s. It's a time for our community to come together and work together for all aspects of the disease. Caregivers patients leadership leaders of faith and anyone out there who wants to help and learn and do more. As I said before welcome to World AIDS Day week. We are prepared to come and speak with you if you want to meet with us and set up a business relationship with us to do your part in the fight against HIV with a partnership that will help provide prevention education support testing and so much more. The biggest hindrance is linkage to care and we have answers for that. 2019 is going to be a great year for all people impacted by HIV and AIDS. Never lose hope keep the faith and believe in yourself. always be positive till the cure is here. See more

It is my honor each and every year to choose people who have went above and beyond the Call of Duty for HIV and AIDS. This year because of the hard work of bot...h of these individuals to help change and reform HIV Care and Support and Education I have chosen Timothy Vance as our Male Survivor of the Year and Juanita Hubbard as our Female Survivor of the Year. Tim was chosen because of his long time service to our agency and the work we do and becoming the New President of the Board of Directors for CVBWF Inc. Juanita was chosen because of her long time service to our agency and now becoming the Peer Outreach Specialist for the CVBWF Inc. Both Tim and Juanita will receive their awards Saturday December 01 at the World AIDS Day BBQ Dinner at St Thomas Episcopal Church starting at 5 pm. Please join us in celebrating their lifetime achievements and dedication to fighting the AIDS epidemic and truly being a champion for others living with AIDS. Congratulations to them both.
