We were honored to design this casket for Fur Baby Judas. Before Judas came into his life, Harford had never really thought of a pet service, but after Judas’s death, something really clicked with me, he said. We have meaningful services for the important people in our lives, and that includes our pets. In many cases, he added, people don’t know that options exist because those options are never explained or offered.... Harford decided to change that. Several months before Judas’s death, Harford had seen a post about a police K-9 who had been laid to rest in a metal casket. It hit me that I could put Judas in a regular casket ... and that’s exactly what I did. On April 15, Harford began sharing pictures of Judas in his casket on the firm’s Facebook page, writing: We had a beautiful little viewing for Judas at home last night. It’s been incredibly healing to see him this way. At peace, and resting. I know this is just his body, his shell (I hear those terms all the time) but this body/shell is what I’ve snuggled with for so many years. Thank you all for sharing your love and comfort and grief with me. Thanks to Cherokee Caskets for making the beautiful casket for Judas. #cherokeecasket #furbaby #petloss #petfuneral #rememberingjudas https://www.afd-digital.com//oc/MobilePagedArticle.action

https://whatsyourgrief.com/what-does-it-mean-to-be-strong-/ In the days after your loved one’s death, did anyone say to you, you’re so strong or another variation on that theme? If so, how did it make you feel? Did you feel empowered and encouraged or unseen and misunderstood?
