While most of us were enjoying our Fall Break, some of our students were participating in a Visual Art Competition that had been postponed due to the pandemic. Congratulations to our last year’s art students who participated in the Georgia Independent Christian Art and Academics (GICAA) Fine Arts competition on September 23rd in Sharpsburg, GA. CCS did an amazing job at the competition! Our Primary school won over all in visual arts and had several ribbons and a trophy awarde...d for the following: Brooklyn Jacob 3rd place for her Flamingo Painting Drew Roberts 4th place for his dinosaur mixed media painting Luke Allgood 2nd place for his chalk drawing Brandon Pass 1st place for his poinsettia chalk drawing Our middle school was runner up for in visual arts and also won ribbons and a trophy. Clover Carey-Williams 4th place for her leaf print painting Bella Hardman 3rd place for her bird sculpture Stephen Hanham 2nd place for his wire sculpture Joelle Stewart 1st place for her bird sculpture Avery Peacock 2nd place for her Van Gogh bedroom collage Our Secondary students in grades 9-12 also earned their share of awards and a trophy! Congratulations to Wyatt Reardon for being named a Commended Student in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. His scores on the PSAT placed him within the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 PSAT/NMSQT. According to the spokesperson for NMSC, this means he has "demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,"
