The North Georgia Health District website is currently down. State officials are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it in the next few hours. The website crashed due to an overwhelming response. Those eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine should utilize the hotline established for the six counties in the North Georgia Health District. Cherokee County government plays no role in this website, hotline or vaccine distribution, as that is a function of the state Dep...artment of Public Health. Cherokee County is communicating with the North Georgia Health District, District 1-2, of which Cherokee County is a part. We will continue to share their messaging as we receive it. NGHD officials urge those wanting to make an appointment to call 1-888-881-1474.
Currently the website to signup for appointments is down. Please use this phone number to sign up for vaccination appointments. Be patient, all methods will be congested due to heavy volume.
We are continuing to monitor the latest forecasts regarding the potential for winter weather on Monday. At this time, no accumulations are forecast for the county.
