It’s here. Point Counter Point release in store and online tomorrow! This August, our shop turned three years old on Edgewood Avenue in the historic Old Fourth Ward of Atlanta. We cannot believe the number and depth of relationships that we have built in this neighborhood! On a daily basis, we have the privilege of serving chefs, bartenders, designers, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, architects, restaurateurs, mechanics, lawyers, woodworkers, cyclists, politicians, and ...the rest of the coffee loving public. Our friends are so diverse, brilliant, and inspiring! Each and every day we learn from all of you and consider the steps we might take to continue to grow these relationships ad infinitum, while continuing to evolve as a company and café in quality and consistency right here in the moment. In these many conversations we share, one of the questions we are frequently asked is Where does the name Chrome Yellow come from? By now, so many of you know the answer to that question even better than we do; you know our story. This tells us that we have succeeded in our efforts to create a place influenced by Aldous Huxley’s first novel: a space where people from all backgrounds may gather and exchange ideas and sentiments over a cup of coffee. So we’ve built the space, we’ve cultivated the community now let’s take our relationship with coffee to the next level. Enter Point Counter Point, our latest collaboration with Methodical Coffee. This coffee represents another step in the growth and maturation of Chrome Yellow Trading Co. It will allow us to serve a product that is more personal and more transparent. This coffee will strengthen our relationship with a regional roaster in Methodical Coffee, create a consistent partnership with farmers at origin, and bring renewed excitement for a new season at Chrome Yellow Trading Co. in this historic neighborhood that we call home.
