This Spring, Kennesaw State University is partnering with Hassan II University Casablanca (H2UC) for a Women’s Leadership Virtual Exchange program. Join us for an interactive and dynamic course to examine women’s leadership and social movements around the world. Normal registration for spring 2021 ends January 2021. There is still plenty of time to register.

We are delighted to have Mr. Sean Warner, the Founder of Grubbly Farms, joining us for the virtual interview for the Digital Stories and Publications on Integrating Sustainability in Business Project of CIFAL Atlanta last week. CIFAL Atlanta interns, Hayden & Parth conducted the interview focusing on how Grubbly Farms is incorporating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into its business. The conversation between Mr. Warner and our interns went very well and our... interns received highly engaging and insightful information which will be helpful in creating the digital story for Grubbly Farms. Ms. Xiaoxiao Ji, the Program Manager at CIFAL Atlanta, Kennesaw State University, expressed our collective appreciation to Mr. Warner at the end of the interview. CIFAL Atlanta invites each of you to complete a brief survey on Implementation of Sustainability at KSU. CIFAL Atlanta developed this survey in collaboration with KSU Institutional Research, KSU Office of Research, and the College of Architecture and Construction Management. It collects data from 2015 to 2020 of KSU faculty and staff’s engagement in Sustainability-related activities. If you've ever been interested in social justice, sustainability, or art, this competition is for you! This November, the Zuckerman Museum of Art is partnering with CIFAL Atlanta to hold an art competition and exhibit. This competition will be comprised of pieces made from recycled material that focus on a social justice theme. Art as Activism: Social Justice and Sustainability was created by two 2020 CIFAL Atlanta United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Ambassadors that... wanted to see progress towards the United Nations 2030 agenda on the Kennesaw campus and within the greater Atlanta community. This project focuses on sustainable development goals and indicators such as diverting waste from landfills, quality education, reduced inequalities, and responsible consumption and production. We are delighted to share that CIFAL Atlanta hosted our October monthly virtual meeting with the teachers from the Human Rights and Sustainability Program at 6:00pm on October 22, 2020. CIFAL Atlanta and the Miner Family Foundation are grateful to all the teacher participants for their hard work and commitment to this project. Dr. Binbin Jiang, the Executive Director of Division of Global Affairs and Director of CIFAL Atlanta at Kennesaw State University welcomed all the teac...hers. During the meeting, all the participants shared their updates on the project as well as success and challenges with the faculty members. Dr. Ion Vlad, Director of the Miner Anderson Family Foundation, Dr. Jillian Ford, Associate Professor of Social Studies Education & Dr. Theresa Alviar-Martin, Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, from Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State University provided comprehensive suggestions to the participating teachers. On Wednesday, CIFAL Atlanta hosted the tenth and final session of the Wellness & Self-Care with CIFAL Atlanta webinar series. Dr. Kristen Rajan gave an insightful presentation on the topic of Awakening to Happiness. During the webinar, Dr. Rajan provided valuable information on what it means to be aware of personal happiness. She also conduct activities and exercises associated with this topic. During Homelessness Awareness Week, CIFAL Atlanta is partnering with CARE services and other campus offices to host the 3rd annual Empty Bowls event. This project is an international grassroots movement that began in an attempt to raise awareness and funds in the fight against hunger. Become involved and help us bring awareness to food insecurity.
