Join us this Year For our New Series on Nehemiah! Powered by Restream https://restream.io/ Each one of us has a good work to do. We may not see it yet, but it’s often right there in front... of our eyes. For Nehemiah, it was a crumbled wall. For you, it could be an injustice in the world, or a need you see what no one else does. During this series, we will learn how Nehemiah responded to his own calling and learn how we can change our own world just by leaning into the unique calling that God has put in front of each of us. !! For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. -Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV

Welcome to our 2020 Christmas series! Todays message: Why Christmas? Powered by Restream https://restream.io/ Most parents wonder, How can I convince my child how much I love them and that they can... trust me? God had this dilemma as well, and Christmas was the answer. The world needed Christmas. So God staged a demonstration and documented it so the world would know. He did it because we needed to see it to believe it. God had to be with us so we could know he was for us. See more

What’s the difference between happiness and joy? Happiness: Depends on what’s happening, it’s circumstantial! Happiness is external and temporal! ... Joy: An internal rejoicing, not because of happy circumstances, but because God is with me. Joy is internal and eternal! Joy is a focus before it’s a feeling! We can have joy even when our circumstances aren’t so happy! Joy is a choice! And lasting joy is Jesus generated! So maybe instead of asking Am I happy? maybe the better question is Do I have joy? @annagrace_todd

Pastor Daniel preached a good word today on the perfect peace that transcends all understanding and all circumstances. This ministry has provided boxes to over 178 million children in more than 150 countries have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox! After these children receive what might be their first g...ift EVER, they are invited to join a discipleship course called, The Greatest Journey. Over 11.2 million children have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior through this course and are now praying for and sharing their faith with their family and friends. This ministry is changing the lives of these children, their family, their friends and their communities! We are so grateful to have had this opportunity to participate in this mission. Would you agree that there’s really nothing that divides quite like politics?! So if nothing divides like politics, why would we have a sermon on politics?!? Isn’t there a separation of Church and State? Pastor Daniel preached on politics because there’s SO MUCH MORE at stake. Because maybe instead of ‘Separation of Church and State’ we should be talking about a ‘Separation of Church and Hate.’ ... Why didn’t Jesus run for office back in his day? The answer: Jesus didn’t come to take sides, he came to take over! No political system would ever change the world! A change in the law will not change the heart. So instead of running for office, Jesus came to introduce the Kingdom of God. The world is temporal, filled with things that will come and go. But God’s Kingdom is eternal. Philippians 3:20 says, But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, This verse reminds us that we have dual citizenship here on earth, but also in the eternal kingdom. John 17:20-31 says, My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. Jesus prayed that we would be united as ONE and while this may seem impossible, it is IMPERATIVE!! It does not come naturally,, but we must be unified SO THAT the world would see and believe. If you and I love each other in spite of all of our differences, well, that is nothing short of a miracle! So as followers of the forever King and citizens of an eternal Kingdom, why would we allow temporary things to divide us? We don’t have to avoid politics or not have an opinion. But let’s put the Kingdom of God first & politics second. Let’s put people first & politics second. Let’s not allow our opinions or political views to burn a relational bridge. We can disagree politically and still love unconditionally. So Church, where does your hope lie today? Is it in the world or in our eternal Kingdom? What does love require of me? Disagree politically. Love unconditional See more

Is it possible to NOT judge? Matthew 7:1-2 says, Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Seems pretty similar to the golden rule right? Judge unto others as you would have others judge you! So the next question is, how do you want to be judged? Most of us would answer, I would like to be judged NOT! Jesus continues in Matthew 7:3-5,Why do you look at ...the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Following Jesus never ends with what’s in it for me. Jesus modeled the way, he helps us remove the plank in our own eye, SO THAT we can help our brothers/sisters remove the speck from their eye. So what does love require of me? HEALTHY JUDGEMENT. When Jesus says to judge not it does not mean to care not, act not, react not, nor mind your own business. We cannot mind our own business and still fulfill the law of Christ. If we love one another, it forbids us from sizing you up, writing you off, walking away; it forbids me from seeing something inside of you, feeling the need to say/do something, and then doing nothing. Healthy judgement starts in the heart, involves humility not haughtiness, compassion not comparison, and in private not public. Love is not judgemental, but it does judge. Jesus is telling us that we should take the plank out of your eye in preparation for removing the speck from your brother’s eye. Jesus addresses 4 audiences: 1. Self-righteous 2. Unwilling to Confront 3. Refuse to Listen 4. Unbeliever. May we be a church that does life intimately, who shares our hearts genuinely, and who holds each other accountable. What would it look like if we could love one another through healthy judgement for the glory of God and the growth of His Kingdom. See more

What does love require of me? FORGIVENESS! Ephesians 4:23 says, Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. The Jesus model requires forgiveness. ... In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus said, For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. This is some weighty stuff. According to Jesus, it is unforgivable to not forgive. Forgiveness is probably the hardest part of one anothering. We cannot control what happens to us in life, but we can control what sticks in our hearts. Proverbs 4:23 says, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. This verse gives us great wisdom, but often we memorize the verse and don’t learn how to guard our hearts. In life we will be hurt and wounded, we will experience hardship and loss. But if those things are not dealt with properly, they will become lodged in our hearts, we feel that we are owed something by the person who caused this hurt and with time it leads to bitterness. Forgiveness is not forgetting, pretending, continuing to be hurt, natural, doesn’t rewrite the past nor a feeling. Forgiveness is choosing to cancel the debt, giving others what God gave you, is a process, & it is required. When no one else can understand, Jesus knows. He was walked out on, rejected, neglected, abused, slandered, denied, accused and ultimately murdered. (Hebrews 4:15) Instead of, How much forgiveness do they deserve? ask, How much freedom do I desire? He requires forgiveness because he loves us too much to allow us to hold onto our hurt that turns into bitterness, he won’t leave us there. How to forgive Identify the origin - where did it come from? Assess what was taken - be specific Deal with the damage - take it to the Lord, take it to the other person (if possible) Who do you need to forgive? Forgive others, Forgive God & Forgive yourself. God is asking us to forgive ourselves and receive his forgiveness so that we can go and be about our God given purpose! See more

Have you ever felt judged? Have you ever said, "Don't judge me!" Nobody likes to be judged. But as Christians, what are we to do when we see someone clearly in the wrong? Are we just to sit and watch them make the same poor decisions for fear of coming across as judgmental? ... In this sermon, we’ll discover that judging others, when approached the right way, is actually an extension of the activity of God in another person’s life. https://youtu.be/NPudoFSeVKU

This past Sunday we had the joy of celebrating the Willis family. Aaron and Brandy decided to dedicate their two boys, Noah and Nathan, to the Lord. We see in Scripture where children, including Jesus, were dedicated to the Lord. Dedication of a child is in recognition that these children are a gift from God. We dedicate them back to Him acknowledging that as parents, we are stewards of these children as among the greatest gifts from the Lord. ... I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord. And he worshiped the Lord there. 1 Samuel 1:27-28 This dedication is also a declaration of a biblical future and speaking to the child’s purpose and praying a blessing over that child so that their purpose would be fulfilled. We charge the parents to commit their lives to Jesus, to honor God and model Jesus to them; to teach their children God’s ways; and lead their children in discovering God’s calling and purpose in their lives. We also charge our church family to stand alongside them in their commitment and if they ever neglect their responsibility to hold them accountable and point them toward Christ. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. -Deuteronomy 6:5-9 See more

& ? Because of Jesus there is a new way of thinking, behaving and treating one another. When we are mad or get hurt, we don’t tear one another down, instead we build one another up and forgive one another just as Christ forgives us. (Ephesians 4:1-3, 31-32) ... ? . What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? (James 4:1). Isn’t is true that our desires lead to expectations that we put on others & then we get upset with those unmet expectations. So we start in our own hearts and learn to pause and ask, Why am I so upset, angry or frustrated by this? . Some people are more trusting & others are more suspicious by nature. Oftentimes we grow suspicious and untrusting because of past experiences. We all have unexplainable gaps between what we expect and what actually happens, but we get to choose what we place in those gaps trust or suspicion. We must choose trust, but we also must be trustworthy, not perfect, but worthy of trust & accountable to the gaps we have created. Love requires trust. So would you make the following 3 commitments with us? , . , . , . . Philippians 2:3 says, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,. Submission means we place the hopes, dreams and desires of someone else ahead of our own. The Jesus model is less complicated but far more demanding. See more

59 ? I’m going to briefly catch you up on the first 3 weeks of this sermon series by Pastor Daniel titled, One Another. ... First thing we talked about was the . . The is a religious system centered around sacred places, sacred texts, sacred men, and sincere followers. This model characterizes most religions of the world. It centers around ME, YOU, US! Because it centers around what WE must do or believe to make things right or keep things right between God & us. But Jesus entered in and flipped the script. The is a new covenant, new command, new ethic, & new movement. ! In Matthew 22:36-40 it says, Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And he said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.’ ? . . Why? Because the world is filled with imperfect people and we hurt each other and we offend each other. We hold different opinions from each other. Sin entered the world and it caused division, brokenness and hurt. And yet we are called to love one another. In John 13:34-35 it says, A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’ . See more
