Director for Technology and Training and Marketing Coordinator, for being named the Georgia Public Librarian of the Year! We are incredibly proud of her and so very glad you've shared your talents with us here at Clayton! Well done. "Marquita Gooch-Voyd has been named public librarian of the year. As assistant director of the Clayton County Library System, she implemented a hotspot checkout prog...ram for patrons, improved the library’s technology so that they could move their programming seamlessly online when COVID-19 shutdowns occurred, grew the library’s presence on social media to bring in new patrons, and shared best practices for her peers by serving on committees and presenting statewide and nationally. She has been instrumental in teaching us the latest technology so that we can take that information back to our community, said her co-worker Erica Ware. She makes it simple and easy for us to understand. Also, she is always serving in some aspect in the American Library Association, Public Library Association, and Georgia Library Association. Participants will have two months to complete the course work that they are interested in the most. After each circulation, the borrowers information is downloaded for statistical... purposes and promptly deleted for the next patron to use. This ensures that all interested patrons have equal opportunity to try to product. The Library will also host virtual demonstration days that will cover the different topics found within the Interplay Learning course collection. Interplay Learning also features interactive simulators in virtual reality. Approved participants will be able to schedule a time to come into the library and complete the #VR training labs. (This option will be contingent on the current pandemic. With the funds, the Library has created several "Entrepreneur in a Bag kits. The bags contain everything small business owners would need to handle things on the go! The Venus Purpose is a nonprofit organization helping young teens with pregnancy, and providing a safe place for them to stay. Change 4 Hope Program has teamed ...up to provide 400 can goods of green beans to feed 100 families. Venus Purpose goal is to make sure families and individuals who can't enjoy a good meal on a regular day, will have a Thanksgiving Meal, not for one day but several days.
