The latest episode of CMCH News N Shmooze. Written, coordinated, directed, edited and arranged by the Middle School Boys. Enjoy!
Just dropped! Check out episode 3 of our school News N Shmooze by the Middle School Boys
We are in the news!! I learned how to write a paper, find information and draw people in, but this project also prepares us for the real world. In life, people will say things against you, and you can’t just respond by saying they’re wrong you have to give evidence and say, ‘That isn’t right, and this is why.’ Read about the CMCH Rabbinic Debate and more about our growth here https://collive.com/atlantas-cmch-school-works-to-keep-stu/
CMCH Middle School Boys held their first ever Rabbinic Debate.

4th & 5th Grade girls minted their own coins just like Yehoshua did to spread the news about the miracles that happened in his time!
We are so proud to share the CMCH News N Shmooze created entirely by the Middle School boys. Under the guidance of Mr. Wes and Ms. B, the students wrote, directed and edited their first PBL project. Project-based learning is a student-centered pedagogy that involves a dynamic classroom approach in which students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world and personally meaningful projects. Enjoy!
There is a lot going on this month from Rosh Hashana to Simchas Torah it’s non stop! Sometimes we need to pause & stretch to then get back into the fun! #cmch #selfcare #jewishyear #relax #connect #community
In ELA with Mr. Wes, the Middle School students have just concluded their unit on personal narratives by drafting, proofing, and publishing their own books! Not just that, but they got to read their creations to the younger children in the Elementary wing of CMCH. The younger students really look up to their older peers and they were impressed when they saw the Middle School students' creations. It is said, "Don't judge a book by its cover," but these books are beautiful inside and out!

Our lab showed us how quickly viruses can spread, and how to do contact tracing. One student was secretly chosen to be the student who would be sick. Only that student had a citric acid mix in their cup, all others had water, and all cups looked and smelled the same. Throughout the lab, students wrote down every interaction they had, and at the end of the lab, when Ms. Cramb put in the solution that identifies acids and starches, the cups that turned yellow were infected, and those that turned blue were not. They will be going back through the class chart - created from each students’ individual chart - to trace the infection back to patient zero.
STEAM activities in 4th & 5th Grade! 1: Amusement Park Teams created a miniature amusement park using only the materials given. Some of the materials were toothpicks, paper clips, bottle caps and mailing labels. The students had one week to create them. Then they judged and voted for a winner. Reflecting on their work, collaboration and overall contribution was the final step.... 2: Egg Drop The students objective was to investigate and observe gravity, forces and the laws of motion. They designed a device that would protect a raw egg from breaking when dropped from 10 feet onto a hard surface. They used everyday items like cotton balls, popsicle sticks, tape, etc. They made predictions, planned and tested as a team before the challenge final on Thursday. They will fill out a reflection form to reflect on what worked and what would make their device better next time.
When Rosh Chodesh Elul arrives it’s a special time to connect with Hashem as the parable goes The king is in the field Hashem is closer then ever with a listening ear! This morning we were greeted by the King himself outside his palace in the fields eagerly awaiting our arrival. The sound of his shofar was heard all over town! #Roshchodesh #elul #chabad #jewisheducation #montessori #kinginthefield #cmch #highholidays #jewish #handsonlearning #bringingittolife
"though summer still lingered and the day was bright and sunny, there was a change in the air. One smelled already the Elul-scent; a teshuvah-wind was blowing.
