It’s collection week next week! First, we have an empty Christmas tree waiting to be filled with boxes for Operation Christmas Child. This is such a great ministry that gives gifts to children who wouldn’t receive them otherwise. More importantly, the children are presented with the gospel! If you’re not sure what to put in, the link below provides great suggestions. There are certain things that cannot be in the boxes, so please look at that list as well. Second, we wil...l be collecting items for the Lawrenceville Co-Op. So many families are in need and we can help by providing them with food. The items that are most needed are mixed vegetables, canned chicken, oatmeal packets, instant potatoes, rice, jelly, peanut butter, and laundry detergent. Today is election day. This process has divided strangers, friends, and families. Trump or Biden? Who will be the next leader of the country? Thank God we have the valuable freedom to vote for who we want to be our leader. However, what will happen if the person you voted for does not win? What attitudes will we have if the outcome is not what we had hoped? The significance of who will be in office has been a burden on many minds. And it IS significant. But our God is far mo...re significant. He already knows what is going to happen. Whatever the result is of this election, it is part of His holy plan, even if we disagree with it. Because God is in control, it does not matter who wins. Our responsibility is first and foremost to our Heavenly Father to be representatives of Him in how we act, what we say, and in every response. Whoever wins, this will be an opportunity for Christians to respond in a Christ-like manner and give the glory to Him. We pray for the Lord’s peace that passes understanding. We pray for safety. We pray for wisdom. We pray for confidence to show Christ’s love even when it is challenging. Today’s outcome does not have to lead to contention.
