I am volunteering with a non-profit called Postpartum Support International (PSI). This organization is a place that provides great training, awareness, and support. We are holding a Climb for Columbus GA on June 22nd at 10 am (this longest day of the year). The reason for this event is to raise awareness for women that after having a baby is a transitional time that causes many changes. Many women experience anxiety, depression, or a mix of both during pregnancy or during p...ostpartum period. Please join the team and help me spread the word. I was hoping this group would join me in advocating and getting the word out. Here is link to join. https://postpartum.z2systems.com/teamColumbusGA Event will be held at 10 am location 1329 Wynnton Road Columbus GA. https://postpartum.z2systems.com/teamColumbusGA How you can be involved is as easy as 1,2,3!!!! 1) Join team for a 5k walk or a run. 2) Meet on the lawn before and after the run/walk as a supporter 3)You can donate or sponsor.

This research supports what many of us have clinically observed for a long time - that postpartum depression isn't just something that women can experience righ...t after birth. According to the study, roughly 11% of those experiencing PPD indicated significant depressive symptoms persisting through the first five years of the child’s life. The good news is that PPD (and other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders) are treatable with the right support! If you are more than a year post-birth and are still not feeling like yourself, getting the help you need can make all the difference. https://womensmentalhealth.org//perinatal-depression-and/ See more
