It’s time for Christmas Cookies!

The cake that almost didn’t happen...and it had nothing to do with the outcome of the World Series! Way back in the Fall of 2019, before the pandemic, this LA Dodgers Groom’s cake was ordered by the Groom’s mother for a May 2020 wedding...well you know what happened in early 2020...SOoooo the wedding was postponed, then postponed again, then rescheduled for October 30th, (with NO idea at the time who would even make it to the World Seriesor come out as Champs), BUT then nat...ure stepped in and brought us hurricane Zeta! We lost power which usually presents a problem when you need to whip up cake batter and icing!!! FORTUNATELY, with weather predictions advising us the potential to lose power was eminent, I went ahead and baked the cakes, wrapped them tightly and temporarily put them in my freezer two days early and mixed my icing the night before the storm hit. We did lose power BUT I decorated the cake with no power by daylight and finished the last details as the sun started setting by lanterns! The Dodgers won the World Series and neither the Corona Virus or Hurricane Zeta prevented the Wedding (or the Groom’s cake) from happening!!

Almost forgot to post photos of this one! I made this for 15-year old Maisie...I’ve made her birthday cake every year since she was 8!

A recent birthday cake for a young man who’s an avid Goosebumps reader. Three of his favorite books were combined to create his cake. Cake top decoration was sculpted our of rice cereal treats, then covered in gum paste.
