Sometimes they cover the clothes in preservatives to prevent mold during shipping. One chemical being formaldehyde, commonly used to prevent mildew and to keep garments wrinkle-free. Thankfully though, these issues can be avoided by washing before wearing.

#LaundryTIps With so many types of fabrics, here are some ways to care of the most popular ones: COTTON: Cotton clothing is soft and comfortable. It can be washed in washing machines and with warm water. JEANS: can be washed in a washing machine, (before washing, turn them inside out so they don't lose their color), wash with warm water, and iron with high temperature.... FLANEL: Can be washed in a washing machine, as if it were cotton clothes, use warm water, iron in medium temperature, and iron the the garment inside out. LINEN: Hand washed and dry outdoors. Wash with warm water. Use a cloth between clothes and iron inside out. SILK: Can be washed in a washing machine and by hand. Dry outdoors, use warm water, do not put in contact with the iron, instead use a pressure cloth between the garment and the iron. ACRYLIC: Can be washed in machine, with warm water. Acrylic dries fast and therefore does not need high temperature when drying. It can be ironed in low temperature inside out. POLYESTER: Clean in washing machine, wash with warm water, dry in low temperature, and iron with low temperature.
