931 Center Street Conyers, Georgia 30012 August 4, 2020 Dear Parents and Students, This letter should have been dated July 20th, but as with so many plans this year, things did not go according to plan. I am now on the mend and am beginning to function once more. I want to give you all the information I have concerning the re-opening of the ballet school this Fall.... My plan is to open on Tuesday September 8, 2020, with strict procedures in place for our students’ safety. Those procedures are as follows: 1. Students will arrive at the school dressed and ready to dance. 2. Students will arrive no more than 15 minutes before their class is to begin. 3. No parents or siblings will be allowed in the building during classes. 4. Temperatures will be taken via touchless thermometer at the door and each student will receive a dab of hand sanitizer. If a student has a temperature, they will have to go home, not to return until they have tested negative for Covid-19 or 14 days have gone by. This ban will apply to siblings as well. 5. The dressing room will be closed to students. 6. Students will go straight to their classroom and take off their outer garments and put on their shoes. They will go to a blue x on the floor to stretch and warm-up until their class starts. 7. We will have marks on the floor for center work, on the barres for barre and around the perimeter of the floor for lines for across the floor. 8. Our teachers will be wearing shields and/or masks, and we recommend but will not require masks for our students. 9. Barres and handrails will be disinfected between classes and the floors will mopped and disinfected every night. 10. There will be an adult downstairs and upstairs to disinfect the bathrooms anytime they are used. I hope these arrangements will help you to make an informed decision about dance this Fall. Class size will be limited due to social distance restraints so please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to return this Fall. We will understand any decision you make for your family. For those that have already set up appointments with Miss Judy to pick up costumes, we need to delay the pickup. For those wanting to schedule pickup please give her a week or so before calling. Miss Judy was admitted to the hospital this week, she was discharged today but needs time to recover before she can be back at the studio working, we are very sorry if this causes an inconvenience.
