If You Had $10,000 For Remodels, What Would You Do? A stranger (soon-to-be-friend) gives you $10,000 CASH. There’s just one catch: It has to be used for a home remodeling project. What project would you tackle? You may know exactly what you'd do but if not, here are seven projects you could easily complete for UNDER $10K (always smart to leave some wiggle room in the budget):... 1. Open up your living area by knocking down a wall. 2. Purchase new AND matching kitchen appliances. 3. Replace the carpet in your bedrooms. 4. Update a bathroom with a new vanity, mirror, faucet, lighting, and flooring. 5. Install custom shelving in your closets, office, pantry, or garage. 6. Paint the main living area walls, trim, and doors. 7. Replace kitchen countertops and add a tile backsplash. Small reno projects like these have a HUGE impact on how you feel in your home. Have you completed any projects in the past few years did you find this to be true? Share your experience below. We’d love to hear! See more
Happy Monday!!
2020 has definitely been an interesting year for sure! But for us, it was our first year in real estate. We have been blessed with some of the most amazing clients this year. Our friend, Talarie called us this past February to ask if we could show her one specific house. She insisted she wasn’t near ready to move but just needed to look at this one. Two weeks later, we had listed and sold their home and were under contract on their dream home. Then she introduced us ...to her parents and in October we found them their retirement home here in Madison. Finally we just had our last closing of the year with her sister on their dream home in North Georgia. Four homes, three relationships all from one sweet friend who trusted us first. We will forever be grateful for the Hayes family trusting us to be their realtors knowing they would be our very first. We started and ended 2020 with this wonderful family and so very thankful!
Ask The Expert | Things you can start doing now to list your home in Spring Is selling your home penciled-in as one of your 2021 resolutions? If so, take steps now to lighten the load before your home hits the MLS. Here’s how: Make a list of home repairs in order of importance. Been putting them off cause you're not so handy? No worries. Hire a friend to help you to knock ‘em out. Dinner afterward is always appreciated.... Help buyers find your home easily by replacing (or installing) modern address numbers or plaques. Unseasonably warm day? Take advantage of it by pressure washing your driveway and sidewalks. Got a few minutes here and there? Grab some trash bags or storage totes and one-by-one clean out drawers, closets, and bookshelves. The less stuff you have, the cleaner and more spacious your home will appear. What rooms need painting? Look at the days ahead and plan one weekend each month to tackle any painting projects. Research agents, check reviews, and ask family and friends for a referral. Go with an agent that others can’t quit talking about! If you're planning to sell in 2021, we’d love to meet you, see your home, and help you this spring. Send us a message and let's chat!
Mommin’ Monday | Creating habits and making them stick in the new year Thinking through new habits you’d like to embrace in 2021? While there’s no secret sauce here are some tidbits of wisdom that may help! Start small. Really. There’s nothin’ like getting a few quick wins under your belt to boost your motivation.... Consider stacking. Already have one habit on autopilot? Stack a new one right before it and ride the momentum. Embrace imperfection. You’ll miss a day...and that’s okay. Shake it off and move on. Tell a buddy. Ask a friend to check in on you over text to see how you’re doing. Find a podcast. There’s a podcast for that! Grab inspiration and coaching to stay focussed -- listen during your daily commute, while waiting to get the kids, or while walking the dog. Take a day off. Every.single.day can feel overwhelming. Take a regular day off. It may just make you realize how much progress you’re making. What tips and hacks have helped you embrace new habits? We wanna learn from youshare in the comments below!
Happiest of birthdays to our girl Kelly! Hope this is your best year yet.
Merry Christmas! Today concludes our 12 Days of Christmas and this was a FUN one! Thank you to @countrysideofmadison for partnering with us for this Supermarket Sweep. El Hayes was our winner for this challenge and was given 3 minutes to fill her cart with as many groceries as would fit - she even got the kids in on the action! Check out our IGTV to see the shenanigans! We had a blast!
