**************************History******************************** While growing up in Atlanta, GA., occasionally my mom would drive me under the bridges of I-20 & 75/85 to go to various places. We would go see my grandmother, go to the Varsity and the Omni to see Wrestling or to West End Mall. I always notice women and men living under the bridges. I’d ask my mom, Why are their people living and sleeping under the bridge? She stated that not all people are as fortunate to... have a roof over their head, like we do! I started asking more questions. How do they eat? Where do they work? What happens when it rains? How can I help? She started to answer my questions by saying, they either ask for food or it’s given to them for free. Some of them may work, some may not and they have to cover up when it rains, if the overpass is not wide enough. She said that I can help by donating food, clothes, time and not taking things in life for granted. I said in my head, with tears in my eyes, When I grow up, I want to help the Homeless men and women as much as I could. Well, I grew up and joined the United States Army, retired and still notice homeless people on the streets, forty years later. I listened to what my Mom (Corliss Renee’ Rozier) said and decided to open a facility for Homeless Veterans called, Corliss Renee’ Veteran’s Life Network, Inc. Our mission is to support and strengthen the Community by providing help to homeless Veterans, restore and eliminate homelessness for women and men who want to get their life back on track and to advocate for collaborative, locally driven solutions to end homelessness. Our motto is You served us, let us serve you!
