All wrapped up with Alex Rangel’s GTR rebuild. Right after buying the car the engine let go and he brought it to us for a over haul. It already had a R33 longblock in it with a twin turbo upgrade. We tore it down and filled the block with forged internals and rebuilt the cylinder head. Cleaned up all the turbo line routing and installed new fire sleeve. Took out the old Apexi Power FC and unknown injectors to replace them with a Haltech ECU and Injector Dynamics injectors. She still had a stock fuel pump so we upgraded that too. Other misc things such as powder coating, axle boots, motor mounts, new brake master, Countersteer heater hose kit, Countersteer ecu mount and oil cooler were done while it was apart to cut down on labor vs doing it in the future. Made a strong 475 hp on 93 fuel. The response and power curve feel great!

We are guessing this is the highest hp RB20 in Georgia, maybe the south east? If not who cares it’s still fast! Brett has been watching us for a while and decided we were worthy to work on his pride and joy. He had us do a full engine build with a 450-500 hp goal in mind. We actually exceeded that goal making 517hp/428tq on 25 psi running e85. Mod list: 9.5 compression built block, built head with over sized valves/springs/Kelford cams, Garrett 3582r turbo with internal waste...gate, 1000cc injectors, 450 pump and Haltech ecu! Now for the crazy part, the engine is running the following stock parts: turbo manifold, intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rail, fuel line size, fpr and trans. You don’t have to over do it or upgrade everything to make lots of power. We think there’s more on the table but we’ll stop here for now. Thanks Brett for letting us work our magic! Two returning GTR customers both in for bell housing replacements. The black one also got a new front lip, oil change, new rear tires and a alignment! We love maintaining these full bolt on 600hp beasts.

New customer in for post purchase vehicle inspection, upgrades and dyno tune on flex fuel. We found issues the dealership couldn’t and notified the owner. Overnighted a exhaust from HKS and installed it just in time for Slowpoke Tuning to work his magic on the dyno. Welcome to the 600 hp club and there’s talk of turbo upgrades next

Returning customer from many years ago came in for some repairs when we found his engine was toast. He took it to another shop running and picked it up practically melted. Blown head gasket between two cylinders, turbos and block over heated so bad the casting began to flake off, melted knock sensors, cylinder head casting began to break off in areas, the list goes on. We started over from scratch with a new block and head from Nissan Japan. He already had a R34 long nose cra...nk so we had it checked out and it was still usable. We did a forged bottom end with built cylinder head minus cams so he could run on the stock ecu and injectors until he’s ready for a Haltech ecu. We also upgraded all his brakes and deleted the leaky ABS pump with GKtech delete kit. We had his engine covers coated about 5 years ago and this trip decided to do the intake manifold/twin turbo pipe as well. Turbos were rebuilt and reinstalled with steel wheels. Lots of misc repairs were done all over the car to make it ready for delivery and immediate trip from Georgia to Florida. He made it there flawlessly. This is one of the many cars brought to us by military personnel while out of the country. While he was stationed in Germany we stayed in contact and progressed on his car month after month. Check out this S15 Tein demo car that was in the Tokyo Auto Salon and Import Tuner Magazine back in the early 2000’s. Owner bought it 4 years ago and it hasn’t been running right since his first track day. We are redoing all things electronic and tuning it with nothing but the best Haltech goodies. It has a Rb26 swap mounted 10 farther back than the typical swap position for better balance, sequential awd transmission converted to rwd, fuel system, roll cage, pedal box and more. Can’t wait to give this car the Countersteer touch.

We’ve been hard at work every day trying to finish loads of cars here at the shop. Andy just picked up his R33 today after lots of repairs and upgrades. He’s been buying parts from us month after month to stock pile and install before coming in for a tune. We took care of a few small things outside of his means prior to tuning and some unexpected problems as well. Traced a coolant leak down to the head gasket and once torn apart we found the head was warped pretty bad. Had that machined and got it on the dyno. Next we found the ignition system had a heavy break up above 4K rpm due to all the coil packs failing. With everything fixed we completed the tune and he picked it up to take home to South Carolina. Jonathan had his R32 shipped from Korea straight to Countersteer on his way home from deployment. It was due for lots of service and repairs. We found coolant, oil and fuel leaks as it pulled in. We resealed the oil pan, replaced the clutch, added a oil cooler, mounted and balanced some new tires, gave her a proper alignment, installed and tuned a Haltech ecu on a completely stock RB20 long block/turbo/injectors. I’m sure I’m forgetting more. Huge over all improvement across the car. He picked it up with his son and made his way back to the Carolina’s!
