This week, Coach Dennis and our Grammar School Students have joined the Kids Heart Challenge presented by the American Heart Association. Thank you for helping our students raise funds for research & CPR training. Students are also spending time each day learning how to eat right, stay active and live healthier lives. Congratulations to Chess Team Members Brielle Dinglasan & Matthew Jaffe for earning medals for perfect scores at the State Chess Championships! All three teams advanced to the State Semi-finals with Middle School Winning 2nd in State and High school Winning 3rd in State. This week is Reformation Week at Covenant! Students are diving into the study and remembrance of the day in 1517 when a monk by the name of Martin Luther, tacked up his 95 Theses to the castle door in Wittenberg, Germany. That action set off a chain of events that radically changed not only the church but the whole world. One of the guiding principles of the Reformation was Sola Scriptura. This is the idea that Scripture alone, the Word of God, is the authority for man. Over the last few weeks, students and businesses have donated loads of supplies to support our 2020 Love Works Project. Yesterday, students from 4k - 12th had the opportunity to put together relief kits for fellow Americans that have been displaced due to natural disasters. As we train our students in servant leadership, we cannot forget to show gratitude to those who have supported this project. Thank you for your donations and your time! We met our goal to package 1,000 ki...ts!! Ask your kids if they got to eat lunch or snack on the new picnic tables today! Thanks to the labor of several handy parents, 6 new tables were rapidly assembled this morning just in time for snack! A HUGE Thank You to Joseph Bartow, @christyerickson74, @robbiefritz , Johnathan Green, James Douthit and Darrell Hallman! * The new tables are currently located on and around our playground. When the Outdoor Renovation Project is completed, the picnic tables will be located in our new pavilion.
