According to Proverbs 16:24, "kind words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Spread kindness today and give a dose of sweetness to those around you.

We're ending our Marriage Series with a special message called Unveiled by Cindy and Raul Diaz. Together, they will explain the marital lessons that they learned in 2020. We have to seek inner healing and allow Jesus to remove our veils of rejection, pain and more in order to see Him and our spouses clearly. Removing these veils and inviting the Holy Spirit to be active in our marriages will allow us to have unity and show each other God’s unfailing love.

There is a shaking. Let hearts awaken. Our God is moving, forever changing us. There is a trembling; there is revival, the sound of worship so great and glorious. Holy Spirit, hear us now.

Rejection is one of life’s most difficult and most common experiences. All of of us have to deal with rejection at some point in our lives, and what might surprise you is that Jesus Christ dealt with rejection constantly. Last week, we began a series called Rejecting Jesus, exploring the reasons that people rejected Jesus, and this week, we’re looking at how people rejected Jesus because He was different than expected.

In previous sermons and series, we’ve talked about all of the ways that life hurts us and discussed the importance of purpose. This week, as we kick off a new year and combine these two ideas, we wish to offer this fresh perspective on past events: there was a purpose for your pain, and there is a purpose in your healing. God can use the hurt, offense, betrayal, grief or abuse that you've suffered for His glory and can use your healing to help others.

May the Lord bless you in 2021, and in spite of the fact that nearly nothing in this life is certain, we hope that you'll be reminded today (and everyday this year) of God's faithfulness and unfailing love.

Even as we face the difficult realities of the past 12 months, there are plenty of moments for which we should be thankful. As Pastor John has said before, gratitude changes our attitude, enriching our relationship with God as we acknowledge His grace in our lives.
