Navajo artist Leland Holiday is a young man with a big reputation. Early in his career, he became known as a "Navajo Folk Artist". Actually according to Leland it was all an accident". As a rebellious teenager, he often broke traditional boundries. "I would carve or paint things that were not supposed to be painted. I had a lot of the older people upset with me. I guess I was pushing against the traditional way of life, but I respect it more now". We are featuring a beautiful piece by Leland Holiday here at Coyote Trading, come check it out!

Sage-Salvia officinalis, L. (N.O.: Labiatae Found in stony places throughout North America. Sage is well known for seasoning, dressing soups, roasts, etc. It is also used as a tonic, astringent, expectorant, and diaphoretic. (Indian Herbalogy of North America, Hutchens page 237,238) It is also burned to balance negative and positive energy.

Hello, Facebook Friends- Just a note to let you know of some goings on as of late; We are having a winter clothing drive for our brothers and sisters on Pine Ridge Reservation, where at present temperatures are 50 degrees below zero. This is going to be an extra hard winter for the folks in North Dakota. Please donate all winter clothing (jackets, scarves, gloves, etc.), preferably in good condition.
