She is also the first American gymnast to win gold in both the Individual All-Around and Team competitions at the same Olympic Games! After wi...nning these titles, Gabrielle and her teammates huddled together and cheered, we are the final five; as of 2020, Olympic gymnastics teams will only feature four gymnasts. Ashley Miles Greig is a force to be reckoned with! She led Alabama to four top-3 NCAA finishes, including runner-up finishes in 2003 and 2005. She also scored a 9.975 on her 2003 SEC floor exercise in the last routine of the meet. Ashley is a 12-time All-American and earned the Honda Award her senior year (given on an annual basis to the nation's top gymnast). Before receiving the Honda Award, she won 20 postseason titles (you read that right!), including six SEC championshi...ps, four NCAA titles, and 10 NCAA regional titles. As a senior, she became the second gymnast in NCAA history to win three national vault titles and the first in SEC history to win four consecutive floor titles. Ashley was also the 2006 NCAA Central Region Gymnast of the Year and won 10 regional titles, including four consecutive on vault and floor exercises. She even earned SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades and a place in XXXI, The University of Alabama's elite women's honor society! Meet Andree Pickens! As a 16-year-old, she was invited to the Olympic Trials but unfortunately did not make the team. A few years later, however, she made the 1996 team and competed in the Atlanta Olympic Games! In the fall of 1998, Andree became one of the most decorated collegiate gymnasts in history at the University of Alabama. As a freshman in 1999, she became the NCAA Champion on the balance beam, was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman Gymnast of the Year and wa...s the first freshman in NCAA history to earn five All-American Honors. She continued to win SEC Gymnast of the Year in the years 2000, 2001 and 2002 - she became the only gymnast in SEC history to win the league’s top honors all four years of her collegiate career. To end her time in college, she won the Honda-Broderick Award for gymnastics (awarded to the top national performer) and gave the keynote address on behalf of all the top female athletes in NCAA competition that year. Clearly an inspiration to gymnasts everywhere, she has an impressive legacy that is hard to compete with! Get to know Darian Burns! Darian was a member of the College Park Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Team from 2009-2013. During her time at CPG, she earned a place at the USAG State Championships at every level she competed in. From a young age, she displayed a tremendous amount of talent in the sport! Darian actively gives back to the CPG program by coaching and mentoring young gymnasts during her summers. To Darian, the Tumbleweeds are family, and we love having her at the gym to plau...dit her accomplishments. She has become a wonderful inspiration to all of the CPG gymnasts! Darian graduated Druid Hills High School in 2016 and received both academic and athletic scholarships to Seattle Pacific University. They asked her to compete on the SPU Gymnastics Team, and after officially committing, she began her rigorous training. The result of her hard work was tremendous; in 2017, she was named the USAG National Floor Champion and the MPSF Conference Freshman of the Week. Most notably, she was deservedly awarded SPU Athlete of the Year. She continued to excel throughout the rest of her college career by racking up an impressive amount of accomplishments. She received 14 All-American awards, 13 MSP awards, 23 career event wins, 8 career all-around wins, 3 MPSF All-American academic honors and 3 SPU Athlete of the Year awards. With two National Titles, Darian is considered one of the most impressive gymnasts to have competed at SPU. She accomplished all of this while continuing to be an extraordinary role model for young gymnasts who emulate and aspire to compete at the same level of athletic and academic greatness that she did She began the Darian Burns Scholarship and recently named its first recipient: Kennedy Brown! #CollegeParkTumbleweeds #CollegeParkGymnastics #SeattlePacificGymnastics #DarianBurnsScholarship

Dianne Durham was the first female African-American gymnast to win a USA All-Around Championship! She won this title two times as a junior and one time as a senior gymnast. Unfortunately, she did not qualify for the 1984 Olympic team due to an injury she suffered at the Olympic Trials. However, Dianne was a pioneer in gymnastics who helped pave the way for future African-American gymnasts such as Betty Okino, Dominique Dawes, Gabrielle Douglas and Simone Biles!
