Cranston Engineering is proud to have Robert Still Jr., P.E., managing our structural department in the Charleston office. A registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina, Rob received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Citadel. He has vast knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery, construction partnering, and design and analysis of various materials. Our clients also will benefit from his experience in wind and seismic design, progressive collapse, and... anti-terrorism/force protection principles and concepts. Welcome, Robert!

Cranston Engineering is proud to be a sponsor of Augusta's first Fit 4 school event that took place this morning at Augusta South Family YMCA. The event was a success, and we gave away 500 bags of school supplies, 51 haircuts, boxes of food, and child ID kits to kids in our community to get them ready to go back to school! Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!

We loved getting to volunteer at Fit 4 School Augusta this morning! The drive-thru event gave away FREE school supplies, food, and haircuts to children and families as they prepare to go back to school in the CSRA.

Our very own Mitchell Murchison joined Darrell and the Columbia County GA Chamber of Commerce this week to showcase some of our work in Columbia County. We are grateful to serve the county with a wonderful partner like the Chamber. Watch below to learn more!

Shyon Scoot and Brianna Jones completed successful summer internships in the Cranston Survey Department. Both are Civil Engineering majors at the Allen E. Paulson School of Engineering and Computing at Georgia Southern University and came well equipped with knowledge of surveying and engineering concepts. Their hands-on work in the field provided valuable assistance to survey crews and enhanced their knowledge for their return to school. "The people I’ve worked with here at... Cranston have been so informative, helpful and patient with my learning. They do everything they can to make sure that I understand what they teach me, which is something new every day! I’ll never forget the things I’ve been taught during my time here. I’m so thankful for the plentiful opportunities I’ve been given to learn and how Cranston has accommodated me during COVID-19," said Intern Brianna Jones. See more

We are proud to be a sponsor of the Augusta Drive-Thru Fit4School event this Saturday, August 29th! This event will take place at the Augusta South Family YMCA from 10am-1pm and is FREE and open to the public!

Has anyone found Andrew Ellicott’s Rock, the northeast corner of the state of Georgia, since the famous surveyor set it on the bank of the Chattooga River 200+ years ago? Cranston Engineering’s Tom Robertson answers that question in his upcoming publication, culminating seven years of searches through dusty archives and beautiful wilderness scenery. Look for the answers in Georgia Historical Quarterly later this year.

Wright Montgomery, Cranston’s Landscape Architect takes pictures of buildings downtown and creates abstract photos from the past and present. This was the original fire station, Engine Company 1, where the Cranston Augusta office is housed circa 1892-1900!

This week’s employee spotlight is Sean Smith, PE, Project Engineer of our Development Team! Sean has assisted on many projects throughout Augusta and The Miller Theatre was one of his first. He claims to have a seat with his name on it. We are so glad you are on the #CranstonCrew, Sean!

The #CranstonCrew in Charleston led a multi-discipline team to prepare a Special Area Management Plan to preserve, promote, and protect the unique history, nature, and economy of Shem Creek and maintain the character of its working creek. We look forward to more projects like this and enjoying more of these beautiful sunsets.
