General labor needed immediately for packing and boxing items to assist moving a small machine shop Gainesville (Quillian's Corner). I am moving my machine shop and seek a motivated helper to pack/ organize tools and supplies on pallets and in boxes. There is potential for training and/or skilled work beyond this move within my machine shop and a nearby welding shop for the right person. Interested persons should PM me. Hours are somewhat flexible and pay is determined by your motivation and skill. Organizational skills and attention to detail are more important than brawn in this position.

Here is a rush job (24-hr turnaround) on a moderate sized pellet mill rotor/shaft. The 110mm (appx. 4.33) bearing seat was destroyed when the bearing failed and spun on the shaft. The seat was built up with 7018 electrode and re-machined to properly fit the new bearing. Additionally, the rotor ears were showing signs of fatigue where they meet the rotor; the cracks were gouged and drilled before being pre-heated and re-welded.

Every day provides unique challenges; here we machined specialty fittings that were welded to pitiless adapters for a water treatment facility. Additionally we created simple tubular holders for ultrasonic fluid level sensors; these were all 300 series stainless steel.

Emergency work for an environmental/wastewater contractor! Today’s project required QUICKLY fabricating an attachment housing that will allow a large trash pump to be rolled down into an angled pipe for emergency wastewater extraction. This week presented an unusual challenge that was too unique to pass up! Thanks to the guys at Slack Auto Parts for sending the maintenance crew of Modern Midways attractions to us on Friday. Due to a combination of factors, the gearbox on their historic 1954 Herschel Merry-Go-Round, sheared its 2 output shaft. In under 24 hours we disassembled the unit, diagnosed the cause for the failure and machined a new medium carbon steel output shaft. In addition to the shaft, we created a replacement shaft coupler that transfers torque to the carousel. Problem-solving is rewarding work; watching the out of order sign come down as kids rushed the gate and saddled their favorite horse was worth the work!
