We learned all about Santa Lucia Day, which is celebrated today mainly in Swedish-speaking countries! We decorated coffee filter wreaths and then sprayed them with water!
We capped off our gingerbread week by decorating (and then eating) a gingerbread man! Yum!
We worked on our fine motor skills by threading beads onto a pipe cleaner to make a beautiful candy cane!
We decorated a gingerbread man, not with candy or frosting but with shapes!
Tomorrow is Crazy Sock Day! Whether they are silly, mismatched, or just scrunched down or pulled up, show off your crazy socks to help us remember our Red Ribbon Week pledge to be DRUG FREE!
We had a lot of great hypotheses about what might happen if a gingerbread man was put in water. We thought he might sink, melt, fall down, disappear, or even get eaten by a crocodile. We did find that he started floating when we first put him in the water, but within a minute, he did sink to the bottom. We will check on him tomorrow and see if any of our hypotheses were proven!
Show off your crazy hair and/or crazy hat tomorrow (Monday) to help us in our pledge to be DRUG FREE for Red Ribbon Week!
We used letter beads to help us sound out and then spell CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words on our Christmas stockings!
Today in Pre-K, we estimated and then counted our pumpkin's ribs, sorted uppercase and lowercase letters, sequenced the life cycle of a pumpkin, and scooped out the fibrous strands, seeds, and pulp inside!
Our Pre-K class explored the outside and inside of a pumpkin, used our fine motor skills to make a beaded pumpkin, and compared pumpkin ten frames using our less than or greater than alligator! Pumpkins are so much fun!
Our Toddlers were in PINK today to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness!
We will be wearing PINK tomorrow for Breast Cancer Awareness! We will kick off Red Ribbon Week on Friday. Please help us pledge to be DRUG FREE by taking part in our spirit days!
Our Threes class drew wagons and then practiced counting by placing a certain amount of pumpkins inside the wagon!
We have so much fun in our After School program!
Our Threes class was busy matching uppercase and lowercase letters using pumpkins and wagons!
Predicting whether something will sink or float is so much better when we do it using root beer floats! We found that ice cream DOES float in our root beer, but cherries do NOT!
We were busy bowling for letter names, letter sounds and sight words today for our 50th Day celebration!
We loved making a root beer float craft to help us celebrate the 50th Day of School!
We ended a great week of bat learning with some Bat Blending, when we sounded out consonant-vowel-consonant words! Then we enjoyed an edible bat! Yum!
