Yesterday we had our Regular/Routine pop-up inspection from GA Dept. of Ag & City of Savannah. These inspections are those we do not know about before hand. We think this is great, because it keeps commercial barns on their toes at all times! We passed all of our requirements around the barn & all the working horses received an ideal body score of 5 from our Dept. of Ag. Representative. We are making a lot of changes around the barn, including adding pasture space and new p...addocks! We have a few new horses in training, which we are very excited about! This process can take months and months, as often we have a process of working with our veterinarian to bring these guys to proper conditioning. Many times they are under weight, need their teeth floated, proper shoeing and veterinary care. One of our proudest accomplishments is handsome Jack, pictured when we got him in April 2019, and this May. He’s a pretty amazing guy!! See more

Murphy Van Belgian retires from CTOS! About 16 years ago, Murphy & his brother Guinness were spotted out in a produce field. Their human, an Amish man, had a broken piece of equipment & ran back to the barn to get tools for repair. He left Murphy and Guinness, as 3 year olds, standing there, untethered in the field, until he returned. Those two just stood like statutes. That is how this team was chosen and brought to Savannah as some of the most rock solid horses that ...have ever walked these streets. Murphy is retired now, and has been adopted by some wonderful people. He will live on a Belgian farm in Holly Hill, SC. He will have a new extended family with Katelyn, Alfonso, Harrison (who is 5) & Debra. Murphy LOVES little kids & we know he is going to have the most amazing second retirement! We at CTOS will miss Murphy, but we feel so fortunate to have worked with him, and to have found such kind people to care for him for the rest of his many wonderful days. We had an amazing retirement party for him yesterday at the farm & celebrated with our staff, the rest of the herd, and Murphy’s adoptees! We wanted to share that with all of you as well Time to walk on Murph! Hoofs & Kisses from your human momma & all the staff at CTOS! We love you! P.S. Thank you Kacy at Indian Trails photography for your gorgeous photos! See more

Great News! We are planning an appearance in Savannah this weekend! Though we wanted to to take our time and make the best decision we could for our guests, horses & staff, we think it’s about time to reintroduced Savannah’s iconic carriages. We can think of no better reason than to honor all the mamas who love, protect & support us in a way no one else can. In accordance with CDC guidelines, we are able to practice social distancing by offering ONLY private tours, for up to 6 passengers, at a significantly reduced fare. Book your 45 minute tour for a flat rate of $100 (plus tax & gratuity) for 1 to 6 passengers , a minimum of $35 savings. For your protection, we will be sanitizing all carriages between tours, and our staff will be wearing face masks. If you have questions, or need anything further, call, email or message us!

I don’t know about you, but I find myself sleeping a little extra during quarantine, I suppose I’m just saving up energy so that when the time is right I can be bright eyed and ready to come out and see everyone downtown again. In honor of my naps, please enjoy these pictures of all our coworkers catching some over the last few years

While we stay home to keep everyone safe, we’ve had lots of time to reflect on the past, and look forward to the future. While we work to make sure we are all ready to hit the ground running and better than ever, we would love to share some memories with you all
