Not all prodigal children are eager to return home. They may be enjoying their surroundings, living it up in worldly pursuits and pleasures. They get comfortable, forgetting the teachings and the goodness of the Lord. That's where Jesus, the Comforter comes in. He is able to bring all things back to their remembrance through a song, a phone call, or a scripture that whispers across their minds. We all know the scripture - "Train up a child in the way he should go...". But have you every paid attention to second part? "And when he is OLD, he will not depart from it". So, how old IS old? Unfortunately, we don't have the answer to that. What we do know is that everyone has a fullness of time - a point at which we mature enough to take stock of our lives and take heed to God's call. Even when our children are in Pharoah's house, God's purpose and destiny is still inside of them. It just may not have birthed or manifested itself in them yet. Having a child stray from our teachings is painful. Having them stray from the Lord is far worse. Like Moses, many children have been "drawn out" by the enemy through social media, explicit movies and music, and even peers. But like Moses, that doesn't have to be the end of the story!
