Many of you have been asking about the July 4th Firecracker 5k. We have decided to hold it this year, but virtually. In doing this, we hope to be able to include more participants, local and afar. Registration will remain open through midnight on July4th and shirts will be mailed out the week of July 6th to anyone not local. We will coordinate a pick-up option in town for our local participants. We hope everyone is staying safe, and we hope to be back to meeting together in ...town again in November for the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. A portion of this year's Firecracker 5k proceeds, and ALL donations, will go to the Charles Smithgall Humane Society in Sautee Nachoochee. If you had been by our physical location after July of last year, you likely got to meet our shop dog, Speck, who we adopted from CSHS. https://runsignup.com//Dahlonegas4thofJulyFirecracker5kand

There’s a line in a song I love that says ‘never let your fear decide your fate’. It’s a catchy song, but that line, specifically, has always stood out to me. Fear is crippling. Fear makes us think irrationally. Fear makes us make knee-jerk reactions that, with an otherwise level head, we would likely not make. Things have been tough lately. For all of us! So we (Sean and I) have been having some very real, very tough conversations. After weighing out all of the pros and con...s to riding out this crazy train we’re all on right now, the best decision we can do for ourselves is close the physical location for DMS. We have absolutely cherished the friendships we have made since we opened our doors in 2016. This closure just means more time to nurture those relationships. More time for community. And more time for each other. We don’t look at this as a failure, but rather an opportunity to change gears, focus on other things that are important to us, and leave that storefront with nothing but good memories. We will still be hosting the July 4th and Thanksgiving races, and hopefully, be able to add a few more to the calendar. Sean will get to focus his time and talent on Southern Terminus GA, and grow that brand. As for us, we’re going to (once the trails are re-opened) get back to doing the thing we love most, and what first brought us together: running in the woods. Keep us in your newsfeed; we’ll be sharing updates as we go with our inventory, upcoming races, and who knows what else. Thank you all for your love and support over these years and for walking through our doors and welcoming us into your lives. Love, Sean, Sarah, Ram, Coosa, Levi, and Speck (and all of the chickens) See more

This is what being a small business owner looks like for us these days. We closed our doors on Sunday, indefinitely. For now, we are focusing on getting @southernterminusga back on Etsy and fielding calls, texts, and messages from folks who want us to ship to them, or order gift cards. We would be lying if we said we weren't scared or worried for what the upcoming weeks, maybe months, hold for us, but we’re going to do everything in our power to keep this thing afloat! . . .... #smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #shopsmall #shoplocal #shopdahlonega #dahlonega #dahlonegageorgia #ourmountaintown #doingwhatwecan See more

This is not a decision we've taken lightly, but we do feel it is in our best interests, and the interests of the general public to temporarily close. Please stay safe, practice social distancing, and do your part to flatten the curve.

Easter is still coming! Consider this a challenge- shop for all LOCAL gifts in your Easter Basket creations. Your local community needs your transactions more than big corporations. Start with a One -of-a- Kind turned bowl from Southern Terminus in our DMS store and then fill with creations and gifts from around the community. It can be running shoes, chocolates, toys, t-shirts, or GIFT CARDS! Plus, there is plenty of parking! We would be happy to meet you at your car for any purchase. #CurbsideDahlonega

Hey folks! Amidst the chaos, we wanted to share that our doors are open until we're told otherwise. If you have concerns about traveling or coming inside, shoot us a text or give us a call (706-300-0959). If we have what you need, we can take payment over the phone and meet you curbside to hand-off product to you. This is new territory for us all, and we appreciate the support of our patrons, near and afar. Stay safe, leave some toilet paper on the shelves for others, cover your mouth, and wash your hands! #curbsidedahlonega

Racing season is upon us! Lucky for you, three of the four upcoming races are TRAIL races of varying distances. First up on March 21st is the Mountain Madness 15k (trail) at Fausett Farms. If you're looking for a legitimate mountain race, this one is for you. Next is the Grape Stomp 5k/10k (trail) April 4th at Montaluce Vineyards. These courses are beautiful and challenging.... At the end of April (4/25) is the Mountain Ranger Run and Ride. This race truly has something for everyone! There are ruck marches (7k & 15k), trail runs (7k & 15k), and a mountain bike race (34k). This race kicks off the annual open house at Camp Frank D. Merrill. This is a local favorite! And finally, on May 2nd, we have the first annual Chasing the Future 5k at R Ranch in the Mountains. This is a road race on the beautiful property of R Ranch. Proceeds go to the Stacy Jarrard Scholarship Fund. Registration links for all of these can be found in the comments below. Happy Running and Riding!

What a BEAUTIFUL morning to be on the trail. Dockery Lake is, and always will be, my hands down favorite trail in north Georgia. I was really surprised to still see snow on the trail after yesterday’s sunshine, and the frozen mud started to thaw out on the return. The view at Preacher’s Rock was much better than the fogfest we had a few weeks ago up there. We had the trail almost entirely to ourselves! sarah #coosatheterror #dockerylaketrail #preachersrock ... #northgeorgiatrailrunning #traildog #appalachiantrail #northgeorgiamountains #girlswhotrail #dahlonegamountainsports @ Dockery Lake Recreation Area See more
