How Speedy got her name

This is Speedy the diamond back terrapin. She laid some eggs in the yard and then came by the back door to say hi before heading to the river.

Isaias was kind of a dud here not that I’m complaining. We go less than 1/2 an inch of rain and wind was breezy but not at all scary. No damage. Life is good on the river.

We are cautiously optimistic about hurricane Isaias. The latest forecast show her passing us offshore with a low chance (less than 20%) of gale winds here on Monday. That said it’s still important to check your dock lines and fenders and make sure you are prepared. Unless things change we are not asking boats to anchor out at this time.

Worst of the storm has passed. Strong wind, lightening and rain but it went through quickly. No visible damage.
