Thanks to a friend I just met, Raquel N. Wells, CDPE, I watched this awesome video of a Judge talking about the transformative power of the court. As I watched it, I couldn't help but think of the tremendous potential for the courts of my new city. Earlier this week, I had the privilege to participate with other members of my community in a discussion about livability in our new city. If you don't know the economist definition..."The Value of Rankings and the Meaning of Livability. ... The Economist and Forbes base their rankings primarily on data from the Mercer consulting company, which annually measures "quality of living" standards, using data such as crime rates, health statistics, sanitation standards, and expen...ditures on city services. While we didn't SOLVE any issues, we did make observations and share discussions/concerns that we may have had with others in our community centered on livability. In the end, we talked about what is needed for parks, lighted sidewalks, community-available green spaces and so forth. The next one might be focused on transportation or some other significant topic. What our new city will become is AWESOME as long as we citizens stay engaged and help our elected officials keep focused and vigilant in the matters that matter at the time. It was good to have two of our council members present. Thanks to the ARC and Councilwomen Foster-Rowell and Gumbs for bringing a unique group of folks together.

Had an amazing morning. I served as a judge for Jim Ellis Automotive Group's sales team event and got to see some knowledgeable and dedicated sales professionals. Their stand out performers really know the vehicles they sell. From there, I got in to the office to meet with the team from Columbus Life Insurance company. I'm excited about some of their unique products and riders. We are able to do even more for our clients. This is an awesome business!
