Delegal Marina 12.01.2021

April 29, 2020 Important Marinas Update Dear Boaters,... The marinas continue to work through a phased plan for boat launching at Landings Harbor to expand services and launches, while simultaneously monitoring the effectiveness of our social distancing protocols. With good cooperation from our boaters, each week staff is able to launch more boats. Hours of operation and reservations for launches are being expanded weekly, based on the prior week results. As of today, the Governor’s shelter-in-place order is set to expire on April 30th, but his ‘Reviving a Healthy Georgia’ Executive Order, effective May 1 through May 13, contains detailed, industry-specific social distancing requirements for business operations with which we must continue to comply. We are seeing an increase in boating as we implement additional services and amenities into our operations. Use of the BoatCloud App has proven to be a good tool in accomplishing Social Distancing as well as creating smooth daily launch operations. The additional time slots added to the launch services last weekend allowed more boaters to enjoy time on the water. The fuel dock self-serve process went as planned and will remain operating. We have received calls from boaters regarding unavailable launch times during weekends and we recognize that there are areas for improvement. Our mission is to accommodate as many boaters’ launch requests as possible while adhering to all COVID-19 state requirements. Due to the continued progress and success of the phasing plan, I am pleased to announce that the available launch time slots per hour in BoatCloud will again be increased on Thursday. We will also extend the daily launch times from 9 am until 4 pm. Our plan is to increase hours each week, based upon compliance with social distancing and CDC guidelines, until we reach our new Summer Hours of 8 am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. If you are unable to find a suitable launch time, please continue to watch BoatCloud for a cancellation. As cancellations are made, those time slots will open immediately for you to make requests. We have set the parameters in BoatCloud to allow boaters to schedule their launch time with a one-hour notice. Boaters with pending launch requests are asked to please make any cancellations accordingly to help free up unavailable time slots in BoatCloud. On a closing note, we are currently working on a software update to the current version of BoatCloud reservation system. This upgrade will include improved scheduling features to enhance the reservation process. While it is still a work in progress, all boaters will be notified in advance as we move forward. The Marinas Staff and I appreciate your cooperation during these uncertain times. Thank you for your continued patronage, Larry Sincoskie Marinas Director

Thunderstorms can develop quickly and create dangerous wind & wave conditions, lightning, waterspouts, & torrential downpours, turning a pleasant day on the water into a nightmare of distress. Check out this YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GolFYqDh3Q

May 15, 2020 Marinas Update Delegal Creek Marina ... During the week, the staff have been busy sprucing things up on the property. The marina dock boxes, fuel hoses, and office buildings on the docks all were cleaned. Repairs will continue on damaged dock boxes, hinges, hasps, and other items that need attention. Delegal Creek Wet slips There is an active waiting list of 16 Landings residents requesting annual wet slips at Delegal Creek Marina. Those Landings Harbor boaters that are now occupying slips at Delegal Marina should please return to the dry storage as soon as possible over this next week, but no later than Friday, May 22. Your support in relocating will allow us to accommodate these waiting residents in time for the Memorial Day holiday. Delegal Fuel System upgrade As a reminder from my message last week, please mark your calendar, check your fuel level, and plan for the fueling systems to be out of operation during the week of May 25 at Delegal Creek Marina. Landings Harbor Launch and Parking Activity Our current launch activity, reflected in the data below, is getting close to where we were prior to the COVID-19 limited operations. Since we now are exclusively using BoatCloud to schedule and track launches, the historical data reported last week was not an apples to apples comparison since all boats movements in prior years were not entirely captured. BoatCloud launch results for 05/01/2020 05/13/2020 (please see photo attached to this post) Memorial Day and the busiest part of our season is quickly approaching and now we must begin clearing the parking lot of boats and trailers. All boats and trailers should be removed from the parking lot prior to May 23. If you have an active lease agreement, please call the Marina office (598-1901) to schedule your boat to be removed from the trailer and placed back into the dry storage. If you do not have an active lease agreement, please plan to store your boat and trailer at an alternate location. We continue to ask that co-habitating boaters please plan to arrive in as few vehicles as possible to increase parking for all and help prevent overflow onto residential streets. Residents using the Marina as a pickup spot to meet boaters coming from other locations should plan to be dropped off when appropriate and not utilize the Marina’s parking spaces. Summer Hours! Our summer hours will go into effect May 23, 2020. We will operate Monday through Friday from 8 am until 6 pm and 8 am until 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Additional launch times will be available in BoatCloud to coincide with the summer hours. Launch times will continue to start at 9 am and run until 5 pm during the weekdays and until 6 pm on the weekends. These hours are subject to change as we continue to monitor and operate under the safety guidelines set forth by our state and local officials. Dredging We received confirmation from the US Army Corp of Engineers that our application for the Nation-wide dredging permit and modification request is currently under review for Landings Harbor. Once approved by the Corps, this Nation-wide permit will be submitted to the Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) with a request to issue our Notice to Proceed with maintenance dredging in the basin. Updates will be shared as more details become available and we prepare to move forward with this important work. BoatCloud Software Update The BoatCloud app software update will be rolling out soon for Landings Harbor’s dry storage boaters. The new version will look slightly different. However, the launch request process will be the same as the current version. This upgrade will include improved scheduling features to enhance the reservation process. TLA will continue to monitor and adhere to the safety guidelines and recommendations put forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the state of Georgia, and Chatham County. As we see opportunities to increase services at the Marinas, please know that we will plan accordingly and keep you advised. The Marina’s staff continue to remain committed to the boaters during these trying times while adhering to all safety guidelines. Thank you for your continued patronage and support, Larry Sincoskie Marinas Director, The Landings Association

Dear Boaters, As many of you are aware, Governor Brian Kemp issued a new executive order yesterday (Thursday, April 30) that ends sheltering-in-place for most Georgians. However, the shelter-in-place order remains in effect for Georgia’s at-risk population (e.g., people over 65, those with compromised immune systems, etc.) until June 12. Please know the Governor’s orders are mandatory and in effect at the Marinas. To read the Governor’s entire document outlining his recent o...Continue reading
