In honor of Black History Month, today we feature a member of our Simulator Operator staff. Captain Rudy Mack, shown first in an Ebony Magazine January 1978 feature on African American pilots and then with his family at the Delta Flight Museum early 2020, was one of the first African American pilots for Southern Airways. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackPilots #FamilyTreeFriday
Delta CEO Ed Bastian shared photos of our first day as the largest vaccination site in Georgia.
Can’t believe we’ve been doing #AircraftModelMonday for this long without featuring a CRJ. This Delta Connection Bombardier CRJ-900 is one cool jet: https://bit.ly/3k3ZKPk Hope you enjoy! Any other aircraft types you think we have missed?
While we are still closed to visitors, starting tomorrow we will be assisting the State of Georgia by becoming a COVID-19 vaccination site. For more information, please visit https://myvaccinegeorgia.com/. Note that we remain unable to accommodate any admissions, tours, and simulator bookings at this time.
Aviator sunglasses never go out of style. Check out these black-faded gold-toned framed beauties from Republic Airlines. https://bit.ly/3qBpy7C. Gift of Elizabeth Byars in memory of Larry Byars. We’d love to see you in your aviators, share a pic in the comments. #FamilyTreeFriday
Happy #WaybackWednesday! We have a few gaps in our early Sky in-flight magazines. Love to hear if you have these issues: September 1976 & June 1978. Thank you! Jan. 1974 Sky cover
We finish our MD-11 30th inaugural commemoration with this great Alitalia model from our collection. Anybody remember flying in an aircraft like this to Italy in the 1990s? #AircraftModelMonday https://bit.ly/2MpBI4X
We interrupt our regular #FamilyTreeFriday with the 30th anniversary of Delta’s MD-11 inaugural U.S. flight. On February 5, 1991, Delta was the first to fly MD-11’s in the U.S., and the next day became the first to fly the MD-11 on a trans-Pacific route (from L.A. to Tokyo). You can learn more about Delta’s MD-11s by visiting https://bit.ly/3cGOfeI.
Happy #WaybackWednesday! A Western Airlines Boeing 720B landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) circa 1970 with the Theme Building in the distance. Enjoy!
Last week you spotted a Northwest Airlines B747-400 model in test livery in our feed. We always encourage plane-spotting, so here is a closer look at the large 1:50 model in a livery NWA was experimenting with in 1994 named Worldwide Reliability/KLM/Northwest." https://bit.ly/3abkYGm #AircraftModelMonday
"New York via Delta Air Lines" postcard, ca. 1957. Gift of Bill Demarest. Fly "Delta's Douglas DC-7 Golden Crown fast service to New York from the South." #WaybackWednesday

National Parks Airways began as an airmail route in 1927 from Salt Lake City to destinations in Idaho and Montana. NPA flew Fokker Super Universals and Boeing 247s and by 1937, when it was acquired by Western Airlines, provided easy access to Yellowstone National Park. #FamilyTreeFriday https://bit.ly/34vXsSK
Biscoff cookies and Delta Air Lines have gone hand in hand since the mid 1980s. For #NationalCookieDay, we want to hear your best haiku poem about this favorite onboard treat. Here’s one we wrote to get you started: Biscoff cookies take / me back to distant travels / How I’m missing you! @lotusbiscoffus
While we don't have a reopening date set yet, we are getting ready! Just installed a new exhibit in the Spirit of Delta about Alice Ramsey, the first Delta flight attendant to wear pink in October. Learn all about it here: https://bit.ly/2HED9Kp

This week marks a major anniversary in Delta’s history the merger with Northwest Airlines in 2008. These two airlines, both founded in the late 1920s, brought decades of experience together. Happy anniversary! #FamilyTreeFriday https://bit.ly/37VLx2E https://bit.ly/34FYhbz
