Thinking today of how presidents in the past have spoken about those who gave their lives in service to country. And the pinnacle of that sentiment comes to min...d: Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. I re-read it last night and felt it was worth sharing here. "Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicatewe can not consecratewe can not hallowthis ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before usthat from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotionthat we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vainthat this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedomand that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Dear Patients, We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are ma...de so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. The Covid-19 pandemic has meant raising our standards to an even higher level, with protocols for the health and wellness of our patients and staff. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We will follow the best practices to be sure whomever comes into our office is safe from Covid-19 exposure and know that we are going above and beyond to ensure your health and safety. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions and discuss new office protocols. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at our office. We will screen all patients and staff prior to entering our office. You will be given hand sanitizer and a mask that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer seating, magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the office at any one time. We look forward to seeing you again soon and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. We are projected to re-open our office Monday June 15, 2020. To make an appointment, please call our office at 770-834-9682. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends. Sincerely, Dr Betsy S. Ayers and Team Dental Center of Carrollton

To all of my Facebook friends, please watch this video and know that what you see here is the absolute truth, and not hype. I have been following this protocol for the past two weeks with groceries. In my practice we are acutely aware of preventing the transmission of infection. That awareness is key to the health and well-being of our patients. So, we can use the same techniques to avoid transmitting infection from outside our homes to inside our homes. His glitter analogy... is key. Please pay close attention and protect yourselves and others. Love to all. Dr Jeff Sherry https://youtu.be/sjDuwc9KBps See more

Dear valued patients, In an effort to act proactively and in everyone’s best interest, we have been closely monitoring the situation regarding Covid-19. Out of an abundance of caution with this rapidly changing situation, we will be closing our office for routine and preventive care beginning today for 3 weeks. This decision was made with great thought and consideration following the new guidelines and recommendations set forth today by the American Dental Association. We ...will reassess the situation as new information becomes available. If you are a patient of record, you may reach us by phone consultation for emergencies. Your needs will be assessed and triaged accordingly. Leave a phone message at 770-834-9682 and a staff member will return your call within 12-24 hours Monday-Thursday. We are committed to doing what we can to help stop the progression of Covid-19 for the wellbeing of our community, patients, and staff. Sending prayers of health and hope during this uncertain time and we look forward to seeing you all as life will return to normal soon. Sincerely, Dr Ayers and staff at the Dental Center of Carrollton

At this time, our office will be open during the COVID-19 public health crisis. We have always practiced universal precautions using state of the art infection control and followed CDC guidelines. But to further protect our patients and our team, last week we began taking extra precautions including but not limited to, removing all magazines, books and any objects multiple patients may touch, limiting personal contact, wiping down restrooms, door knobs, etc following each use.... If patients are not feeling well or believe they may have been potentially exposed or have traveled outside the United States within the last 14 days, we ask that they reschedule their appointment. All patients appointing to our office will be screened before accepting them for treatment. We are prepared to do our part to protect our community, patients, and our staff.
