Many children and adults still go without simple measures that have been proven effective in preventing oral diseases and reducing dental care costs. Here are some things you can do to ensure good oral health for you and your family: Encourage your children to eat regular nutritious meals and avoid frequent between-meal snacking.... Protect your child’s teeth with fluoride. Use a fluoride toothpaste. If your child is less than 7 years old, put only a pea-sized amount on their toothbrush. Seek advice from a dentist or other health care professional before introducing fluoride toothpaste to children under 2 years of age. If your drinking water is not fluoridated, talk to a dentist or physician about the best way to protect your child’s teeth. Talk to your child’s dentist about dental sealants. I have been with Dr Walls since 1998 and have spent my entire career treating our long term patients. I enjoy learning about new techniques and new technologies to bring the... highest quality care possible to our patients. I have two awesome dogs Todd and Macy, and I enjoy going to Genesis gym in Cumming, riding my Peloton, researching genealogy, and hanging with my gal pals. Meet Alexis! Alexis graduated with her Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2002. She worked with Dr Keith Broome until 2015 when Dr Walls acquired Dr Broome’s practice. She has been working at Dr. Shawn Walls office since that merger and loves being a dental hygienist. You will find that she is compassionate, thorough and detail oriented. Prior to her studies to become an RDH, Shannon attended the University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!) and graduated with a degree in Economics. After ten years of working in the corporate world, Shannon felt called to the dental fi...eld, which we are thrilled about. Shannon's father was in the military, so she has had the opportunity to live in several states, and countries, while growing up. She is originally from South Korea, so among her many talents, she speaks Korean fluently. In her free time, Shannon enjoys traveling, and adventuring out into the city with her husband, Leo, to try new restaurants. She is currently enjoying football season, where she proudly supports The Georgia Bulldogs!
